Re: Announcement of the World Pilgrimage to the Holy Land
We sincerely thank you for your sacrifice and preparation for the Interreligious Peace Sports Festival and the upcoming blessing on July 26th in Korea. Also we have received great encouragement from True Father, who expressed gratitude for the religious and civic leaders who have been standing strong in promoting and advancing True Parents’ work for world peace and the Crown of Peace conferences across America. This is a time centering on An Shi Il, the Age of Settlement and Attendance, that we are to take responsibility to become a tribal messiah and fulfill our role as owners of Cheon Il Guk.
A new World Peace Pilgrimage has begun. Every continent of the world is participating. Every two weeks a different continent will send 500 people to the Holy Land for tours, service projects and reconciliation, centering on women and also centering on Muslims, Christians and Jews. The North American continent time in the Holy Land will be from September 12-25. The cost for the two-week stay, including airfare and all basic costs, will be $2,000 per person. We are working a more cost-effective package for VIP’s who will stay for seven days, from September 12-19.
Dr. Yang has been asked by True Father to take direct responsibility for all the world pilgrimages, including coordination of all continents’ activities there and the development of plans and activities. He will be working under the guidance of Rev. Kwak, who is assisted by Dr. Walsh, and will also be receiving special advice and input from the Middle East Peace Initiative Steering Committee of IIFWP. Dr. Yang has asked Rev. Jenkins to represent him at this activity and has appointed Dr. Antonio Betancourt as the director of the World Peace Pilgrimage in Israel. Mr. William Selig will be responsible for communications and logistics, and Mr. Hod Ben Zwi will be in charge of outreach and VIP conferences and interactions.
Registration forms will be forthcoming and we will also be developing on-line registration for this. This announcement is to simply confirm the dates and the tentative pricing. Next week invitations and registration materials will come.
