MEMORANDUM
To: All Leaders of FFWPU and Related Organizations, All Blessed Families and Members
From: Dr. Chang Shik Yang and Rev. Michael Jenkins
Date: July 1, 2006
Re: Seven Year Course of Special Dedication for North America Three 40 Day Periods Starting from July 2nd
Once again we are deeply inspired by the attitude of faith that the Regional Directors are demonstrating as they follow Father's call to return to the Fatherland. They are showing the attitude of faith that is fundamental to the condition required for providential leadership.
True Mother's tour continues to break through all barriers. Today True Mother victoriously completed her course in the Middle East. The Jordan event was a huge success with great support from the Ambassadors for Peace of Jordan.
Seven Year Course for North America:
True Parents have clearly stated that their ultimate goal is to have substantial peace by January 13, 2013. America’s role in achieving that goal is undoubtedly of paramount importance. Therefore this period from July 2, 2006 - January 13, 2013 will be considered a 7-year period to fulfill America's mission as the Elder Son Nation.
We sincerely believe that God and True Parents are calling all generations of Blessed Central Families and members to give their most sincere devotion during this period. We expect and sincerely pray for a tremendous increase of support and involvement in the American movement. Every Blessed Central Family has been handpicked and called by God for a special purpose and role. We must identify that purpose and clarify how each can contribute to the overall activities of our movement of FFWPU and related organizations. Then we must help one another fulfill that calling. We ask that all Blessed Central Families of America make a new covenant with God for a completely new development and success of the Providence in America during these next 7 years. This new "covenant" will be internally realized through the "new" Holy Wine that was given to all Continents on June 13, 2006 at the opening of the Cheon Jeong Gung.
The key elements of what must be fulfilled are spelled out in Father's 7-point declaration also at the Opening of the Cheon Jeong Gung.
During this 7-year course, our American movement will focus on two critical broad goals:
America becomes a model nation of Cheon Il Guk.
America fulfills its role as the "elder son" nation by supporting God's providence throughout the world
(Note: A further description and elaboration of these goals is included in the addendum of this memo.)
Three 40 Day Periods for All Blessed Families:
First 40 Days - July 2nd - August 10th: This 40-day period is most important, as it sets the "providence for the start" of this new beginning for the American movement. During this time we must reinforce and clarify our objectives and providential "deliverables" so that we can breakthrough to new levels of accomplishment. Priorities during this first 40-day period include:
Engage and motivate all blessed families and members to discover and commit to the best way they can contribute during the new 7-year course.
Increase focus on Hoon Dok Family Church as the central priority of our FFWPU organization.
Focus on qualitative improvements in our family life, ministries, and related organizations.
Strengthen our movement during the transition with continued success in supporting all providential directions.
Initiate restructuring of American movement and leadership change and transition.
Introduction of the "District System" and further development of the regional system. Development of Coordinating Councils of related organizations.
Key Conditions for the first 40-day period -
Fulfill Father's direction to read three speeches of 180 nation World Tour.
Make prayer conditions during this 40-day period (which will include a national 21-day prayer condition from July 15th – August 4th, with personal prayer at other times) with the following points of focus:
Establish a "foundation for the start" for the seven-year course in America.
Total victory of True Parent's World Tour
Internalize the 7 Points of Father's speech at the Cheon Jeong Gung.
Understanding and success in HDFC
Fulfillment of related organizations’ goals (i.e. Ambassadors for Peace, MEPI, ACLC , WFWP, KODAN etc. )
Participation in Hoon Dok Family Church
Read "God's Hope for America" address with your family over the July 4th holiday.
Second 40-Day Period – August 11th – September 19th: Clarification of specific objectives and expected outcomes will be determined through review and planning during the first 40-day period. Key Conditions for the second 40-day period - also to be announced.
Third 40-Day Period – September 20th – October 29th Clarification of specific objectives and expected outcomes will be determined through review and planning during the second 40-day period. Key Conditions for the second 40-day period - also to be announced.
Addendum:
The broad goals for "realizing a nation of Cheon Il Guk", and "fulfilling responsibility as the Elder Son nation" must certainly be described in more concrete terms. An initial version of that is contained in the 12-point plan for North America. The relevant section is as follows:
I. America becomes a model nation of Cheon Il Guk.
As a model nation of CIG, America will manifest the following characteristics: America embraces and implements the ideal of "one nation under God" as the foundation for and in support of the ideal of "one world under God" (which also can be described as the nation of Cheon Il Guk). Society exhibits a culture of heart and true love that transcends race, religion and nationality.
a) Qualities of character and personal virtue seen as the standard for individual development.
b) Blessed family ideal is the standard for family life.
c) Family-centered culture that promotes and upholds the values of purity before marriage, fidelity within marriage, filial piety, etc.
d) Broad recognition and support of True Parents’ work and teaching.
Matters of governance (including self-governance, family governance, as well as government policies, legislative practices, etc.) are in accordance with the Principle.
a) Religious leaders work in unity and cooperation for sake of the nation and world, functioning as the "conscience" of society.
b) Civic leaders manifest qualities of principled personal and family life, and work in cooperation with religious leaders for the betterment of society.
c) In accordance with the principle of "living for others", America fulfills its proper role of leadership and service toward the world community.
Standards of education, including public school curricula, are grounded in the three-stage theory of education: heart, norm and mastery. Leadership in all aspects of society (including government, religion, education, media, business, etc.) manifests qualities consistent with Cheon Il Guk:
a) Leaders have the characteristics of "true parent, true teacher, and true owner" in all fields.
b) All key stakeholders (leaders from government, religion, media, academia, business, the arts, sports, etc.) apply the core principles of living for the sake of others, overcoming barriers.
Media is ethical and educational, contributing to the establishment of a culture of heart and peace. The arts, leisure activities, and culture are wholesome.
a) Sports used to promote harmony and peace.
b) Youth activities support the standards of education, and personal / family values.
II. America fulfills her role as "elder son" nation through support for God’s providence throughout the world.
The American movement develops proper relationship with the True Family. The realization of a healthy vibrant church and movement of blessed families.
Growth of the American movement occurs based on qualitative and continuous improvements and developments of mind / body unity, blessed family life (HDFC), unity with and among leaders and the ministry and all related organizations. Growth will be the natural result of correct and vibrant principled relations. America acts in accordance with God’s will in achieving peace in the Middle East.
America fulfills its providential responsibility in supporting the unification of the Korean peninsula according to Heaven’s expectation.
US develops its relationship with the UN according to providential expectations.
Sincerely,
