RE: Convocation for Parents Matching Their Second Generation, U. T. S., Barrytown, NY on October 27-29

This Memorandum is to announce the First International Parents' Matching Convocation to be held in Barrytown, NY, at the Unification Conference Center, October 27-29, 2006.

Background

In the summer of 2001, True Parents bequeathed to the Blessed Central Family Couples the authority and responsibility to match their own Blessed Children who had attained the proper age and met appropriate standards.

Although True Parents began a four-year providence to match and Bless Second Generation who met the Cheon Il Guk standard from December, 2004, the authorization clearly remains in place and has continued as well for parents to match their own children. It was never withdrawn.

The authority for giving the Blessing itself has always remained with True Parents and the official HSA Blessing ceremony.

Support For Parents

Many parents have been successful in finding wonderful matches for their children, receiving great support from Heaven. Some parents, however, have encountered difficulties in two main areas.

A. They were lacking clear procedures and processes to follow to locate and identify potential candidates to match to their son or daughter. They lacked experience and guidance in relating with other families centered on matching.

B. They felt, "We don't know enough people." They felt limited in their outreach and unable to go beyond their community and circle of friends. Some sought "exchange marriages" but did not have any connections to families in other nations and cultures, nor did they have a way to bridge the barriers such as language, culture, and race.

Parents Matching Convocation Is Launched

In order to support parents, both in America and abroad, the USA Blessed Family Department is organizing the first ever Parents' Matching Convocation.

Convocation Sessions will include:

Testimonies from parents who have experienced matching.
Presentations and Guidance about all details of matching that need to be considered.
Explanation how to use the "new improved" BCCandidates matching website.
Opportunity to share with others about your eligible BC and display photo albums.
Opportunity to view pictures and profiles of many other candidates.
Opportunity to speak with church representatives from other countries.
Ample time to meet and talk to other parents.

If parents cannot attend, we strongly invite them to be sure send pictures and profiles to be displayed to participants.

Efforts will be made to bring as large a participation from candidates in Europe, Japan, Korea, Latin America, and other nations as possible.

Further details will be announced as they become available on the following webpage: http://www.familyfed.org/bfd/ParentsConvoReg.html
