RE: Important Directions for UPF-USA and Ambassadors for Peace Development
DATE: November 15, 2006
As you know, Father and Mother Moon have repeatedly emphasized the crucial role of the Universal Peace Federation in realizing the world of lasting peace that is God’s dream and the hope of all humankind. It is vitally important that we organize well the American chapter of UPF, and that we move forward quickly to strengthen and expand the Ambassadors for Peace network and organization throughout the nation.
Regional and National Organization
Internationally, UPF is organized into regions (corresponding roughly to continents). The number of regions was expanded a few months ago from ten to twelve. At that time, Canada was designated as a separate region from the US. Therefore the USA region is now comprised of the USA and the Bahamas. The Regional Chairman is Dr. Chang Shik Yang; the USA Chairman is Rev. Michael Jenkins, and the Regional Secretary General is Mr. James P. Flynn.
UPF-USA Field Leadership
The Universal Peace Federation is the primary umbrella for all the providential organizations, with the central role in coordinating major efforts toward peace and reconciliation. Because of the pivotal role of UPF, our field organization should involve the most senior leaders on the district level. Following the model of the international and regional levels, the UPF-USA District Chair is the leader responsible for the oversight and guidance of UPF initiatives in the district in accordance with the Founders’ vision. The following leaders are hereby appointed as UPF-USA District Chairs in their respective districts:
