The Power of Heartistic Repentance

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I would like to share my reflections with you on the power of heartistic repentance....

As it is written in The Exposition of The Divine Principle on page 223:

"Each of us must divide our own self as an offering to separate good from evil. A life of faith involves putting ourselves in the position of an offering. Only by dividing good from evil in ourselves can we become living offerings pleasing to God. We should constantly separate good from evil within ourselves, according to the standard of God's Will. If we neglect to do this, a condition is set up for Satan to invade."

My experience has been that the best way to set up a condition in myself to separate good from evil is the conditional offering of heartistic repentance before God, our Heavenly Parents and our True Parents.

First and foremost we need to understand that our Original Heart, Mind and Will is in the position of a parent to our fallen nature which is located in the body...and we need to take authority over our fallen nature accordingly.

A simple prayer that I pray is: "Heavenly Parents, My original Heart, Mind and Will take the position of parent to my fallen nature that is located in my body so that I can unite my Original Heart, Mind and Will and restored body -- that is free from fallen nature, -- who is in the position of child -- through my heartistic repentance."

Heartistic repentance is that first we love ourselves with God's Love, then we forgive ourselves with God's forgiveness by receiving our Heavenly Parents' forgiveness and then after receiving Their forgiveness we will have the heart to repent, sincerely.

When we repent sincerely from our heart, then we can remove our fallen nature. If we cannot repent sincerely from our hearts, then our fallen nature remains the same.

My repentance usually begins by repenting for these basic sins:

The sin of omission, co-mission, and the four fallen natures:

1) Failure to take God's viewpoint and standpoint in loving others

2) Leaving our given position

3) Reversal of Dominion

4) Multiplication of evil

Then I reflect in quiet meditation to find any other sins that I may have committed against a brother or a sister, either knowingly or unknowingly. And I repent for all those sins...

Sometimes we commit sins against our brothers and sisters without even knowing that they are sins...we just think that: " I am doing my job/mission...the best way that I can", but... it is written in the Bible:

Proverbs 16:3 " Commit all your plans to God and they will be established and succeed."

I believe that this passage is referring to us to communicate and report to God, our plan of action, before we do anything; so that God can guide us to make the best possible choices for not only ourselves but for everyone involved... because we are the body of Christ, our True Parents.

1 Corinthians 12:12 "For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many are one body, so it is with Christ."

1 Corinthians 12:25 "That there may be no dissension within the body, but the members may have the same care for one another...."

1 Corinthians 12:26 " If one member suffers, all suffer together with it, if one member is honored, all members rejoice together with it."

I believe that we need to do our jobs with love, as we commit our activity to God. (Proverbs 16:3) We need to also understand that a job is not only for 'me' to make a living or to fulfill "my" mission; but for the whole purpose and affects all people that are around me, and even all people of the earth ---just because each of us, as a Unificationist, is a microcosm of all people of earth.]

In these biblical passages we can understand this very point:

1 Corinthians 13:1-2: "If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing..."

1 Corinthians 13:4 " Love is patient, Love is kind...it does not insist on its own way...it rejoices in the truth."

Love does not insist on its own way, it insists on God's Way.

Sincerely,

Elise
