Various chapters of UPF-Russia have been promoting family initiatives. Seminars were held in Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg in October.
Novosibirsk -- Out of concern for family instability, UPF-Siberia, together with the Women's Initiative Creative Association, held a public forum on the topic "The Meaning of Marriage and Family as a School of Love and Human Development" on October 29 in Novosibirsk. Among the participants were 52 representatives of grassroots organizations, including the grassroots movement "Moral Russia," the CARP youth organization, the information and methodical center "Sober City," "Criminon-Novosibirsk," "Creation and Preservation of the Family," the Russian National Academy of Management and Cardinal Psychology.
There were three round-table discussions during the forum. Finally, participants approved the plan of joint activity, among which was to establish the Siberian Peace Council for coordination of programs for families.
The team of UPF members "Conductors of Goodness" took part in the "KVN" game on "I, You, He, and She Make One United Family" that was initiated by resource centers of the city districts. The UPF team took the second place.
Dmitry Oficerov was invited to the meeting with the city governor, Vasily Yurchenko; the meeting took place on October 25 in the Public Chamber of the Novosibirsk region. The participants discussed issues of power and grassroots interaction.
Ryazan -- The regular meeting of Ambassadors for Peace on October 24 featured reports about various activities of UPF-Russia and Ambassadors for Peace. It concluded with a call to strengthen families.
St. Petersburg -- A seminar on "The Realm of Family Values and Traditions" took place in St. Petersburg on October 23. Eco-sociologist Irina Viktorovna Kazantseva, a candidate in biological sciences and associate professor of preschool and primary education at the Post-graduate Pedagogical Education Academy, gave a series of lectures. Among the participants were young couples who wished to create happy, stable families and were looking for new information.
