Accra, Ghana -- As part of efforts to mobilize Nigerians in Diaspora to join the growing network of Ambassadors for Peace to contribute to ongoing efforts to build a peaceful Nigeria, UPF-Nigeria, UPF-Ghana and the Nigerian community in Ghana are organizing a special conference of Nigerian Ambassadors for Peace in West Africa on the topic of "Peace, Security and Human Development in Nigeria" July 23-26, 2014 in Accra, Ghana.
The conference is organized by Universal Peace Federation (Nigeria) and the UPF Ghana in collaboration with the Nigerian Community in Ghana. See more at:

A highly selective group of Nigerians and other special delegates from around West Africa are being invited to attend the conference to discuss emerging challenges facing Nigeria in the areas of peace-building, security and human development. Expected participants include representatives of governmental and non-governmental agencies as well as officials and heads of key institutions, women and youth leaders. Nigerians in Benin, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone and other West African nations are being invited to attend.
Being aware of the urgent need for innovative vision and bold leadership in order to resolve the critical issues of our time, the conference will bring together committed Nigerian Ambassadors for Peace and other stakeholders to discuss the following:
Peace Building in Nigeria and West Africa
Insecurity in Nigeria and West Africa
Human Development in Nigeria and West Africa
Inter-religious Harmony and Intercultural Dialogue in Nigeria and West Africa
Strengthening ECOWAS (the Economic Community of West African States) through the Unity of Nigeria and Integration of West Africa
It is hoped that this event will contribute to efforts to inspire Ambassadors for Peace with the UPF vision for peace.
