In conclusion, the reason we laugh at our partner's "imperfect" ways to love us, it is really because we are laughing at our self as the "imperfect" lover! "Perfect" love is not born out of Perfection. It grows gradually, out of even the most childish, immature and imperfect ways to love, as long as we are not embarrassed. As I was recently sharing with a sister, about the sweet memories of the engagement days with my wife, I was surprised how I had forgotten them for so long. Yes, our love for each other is not as sweet as those days, yet, why should I bury those moments in my mind?

Then I pondered how, I was made to feel embarrassed as a child and for being a child!.. A child's entire being lives in the world of love. Every time he/she feels love or receives love is a milestone for his/her life. However, if the child is made to feel embarrassed for feeling love from or to anyone, then he/she grows up being embarrassed to feel love.

So, as adults we need the "approval" of others, to let ourselves feel loved or to love. We wants to avoid the "scene of crime" where our heart was stabbed as a child, by being laughed at when we showed "too much" affection to our parents or a friend.

When Adam and Eve committed illicit sexual love with each other, God did not make them feel embarrassed: He simply asked "Where are you Adam?" Meaning I am not "watching" you doing the wrong thing, I still believe in you! Yet, unfortunately, they already felt embarrassed and ashamed of their nakedness...

One can imagine, as Adam and Eve were making love, the Archangel was standing there laughing at them! So Adam and Eve associated their first sexual love with the feeling of embarrassment. So from then on sexual relationship became the most shameful act, in the culture and mind of fallen man.

And since sex is the root of all love, any show of affection, has an "embarrassing" feeling to it, in our subconscious mind. Thus, we try to bury the memories of love and romance.

Every time True Father speaks about sexual love between husband and wife, some Unificationists laugh nervously. So, angrily, he yells, why are you laughing, are you being like the Fallen Archangel?!

Actually, the Archangel was the first person who felt embarrassed as he started feeling jealous of Adam and Eve. He was embarrassed as he saw himself losing control...till then, he had thought of himself as a very self-disciplined servant, in perfect unison with God's Will. Yet, had he shared his feeling with them, he could have let go of those feelings of embarrassment and not fall.
