The Doctors' Circle is Growing

With informal discussions in Las Vegas and a round-table meeting in Barrytown, the Doctors' Circle of the UTS Alumni Association is shaping up. Thanks and appreciation to everyone who came to the meeting and all who expressed their interest in being part of the Doctors' Circle. Among the UTS alumni who hold doctorate degrees, over twenty so far have responded positively to the "Doctors' Circle" (that's a pretty fair percentage!).

Amid a dynamic gathering of approx. 100 UTS alumni and friends, the Doctors' Circle round-table session included both current doctors and doctors-to-be. The participants shared warmly about their research topics and ongoing interests, both the content of their work and the heart behind it. We all shared expanded horizons, from Islam in Africa, to reclaiming Christian connections, to reconciliation and Indians, to re-engineering Unification Thought, to effective educational administration, to using new media to spread our ideas more widely.

Since ideas are infectious, and (by divine principle) vitality multiplies through cross-fertilization and networking, I would like to encourage and welcome input and ideas from all UTS alumni and friends who hold doctoral degrees or who are interested in pursuing doctoral studies. There is a very short survey (available here) on how to develop the Doctors Circle further.

Doctors Circle Survey

Early results of the survey show special enthusiasm for mentoring the next generation of Unification scholars, particularly 2nd Gen. Unificationists. To develop that mentoring process, current Unification doctors (alumni or friends) are encouraged to provide information about the fields of study in which they might serve as mentors for doctors-to-be, and those who know of 2nd gen that are interested in doctoral study are encouraged to include that information also.
