The Words of the Ureta Family

Don't have to be 'perfect' to start a good deed!

When I was in middle school, we had a 400 meter race. I was full of determination to win the race, so I ran as fast as my short legs can carry me... and I was indeed number one until... I realized it was not a 'sprinter' it was kind of a long distance race! I became exhausted about 2/3 of the race....my heart was beating like crazy...then I could no longer run so I started to walk. All of my class mates passed me... I finally brought myself to the goal and burst into tears! I was crushed at that moment...Then, the teacher came to me and said, "Thank you, because of you, everybody else's pace was faster than ever!"

I can never forget this experience. Why? Because I realized that even if one isn't 'perfect' if one does one's very best, it will kinder goodness to others!

That was a big lesson for me. I draw and make picture books, either my English or pictures are far from 'perfect', but if I do my very best to do so, I can motivate someone else!

This picture was drawn by my 5 year old daughter.

She said "I used all the colors to make this because you told me that you like all the colors.

It was a hard work for me but I didn't give up!"

As you know a rainbow has only 7 colors. This isn't a 'perfect' rainbow, but nevertheless it touched my heart so deeply.

We don't have to be 'perfect' to start doing good deeds, just do our very best at the moment, then we can kindle that to others! We can always inspire others by doing our very best!
