The Words of the Ablong Family |
Dear Philippine Brothers and Sisters,
May the love and blessings of God and True parents be with us all!
You must have heard of the wrath and devastation brought by Typhoon Sendong (international code: Tropical Storm Washi) that is stronger than Ondoy. The number of recorded deaths from the flash floods caused by Typhoon Sendong over the weekend increased on Monday as rescue and retrieval teams continued their search for the dead and survivors, particularly in hard-hit areas, such as the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, some parts of Cebu and Negros Oriental, especially Dumaguete City and Tanjay. The number of dead is now approaching 1,000 and could be more excluding those who are still missing. Local officials have begun burying the dead in mass graves as funeral parlors could no longer accommodate them.
Right now, people who survived in those areas are in need of much needed drinking water, food, medicine, clothes and shelter to protect their bodies from diseases. Some of our church members are affected by this calamity. We hope to turn this calamity into an opportunity for us to witness and educate people about the True Parents. Our Unification Church ministry (PUCMJ) hopes to contribute to the relief and re-building efforts of affected areas as members of Philippine Unification Ministry in Japan (PUCMJ) through the church centers in those places.
If you want to donate money for the victims, please send your donations to this account:
