With the difficulties as a leader in terms of financial capabilities, still we need to move forward for the sake of building the Kingdom of Heaven.
Almost a month before going to my present mission, I made sure that when I left my mission area the next leader should not walk in the night. We conducted a turn-over ceremony of my leadership in Pangasinan to Mr. Ryan Ilustrisimo. Also granting that the members I leave are capable of supporting the new leader and at the same time inheritng my desire and enthusiasm with plans that we discussed and are willing to make it into reality. I toured with Mr. Ryan Ilustrisimo the different VIP's that we have in Pangasinan as well as to the other members who were not able to attend the turn-over ceremony in the far area of Pangasinan, so that the members will be comfortable in receiving and following the new leader and the new leader will have confidence to lead and guide the members.
Before I came to Davao Mrs. Cora Ampo-Diocadez always, keep me updated of the situation in Davao. I was very worried of what is happening to Davao, and Dr. Michael Zablan pushed me hard to go immediately to Davao. I tried to earn the fare for going to Davao as soon as possible. I am very thankful to the Pangasinan members who supported me, with their contributions I was able to fly to Davao. Sadly, I have to leave my family in Pampanga since we didn't have enough money for us to go together.
When I arrived in Davao, Mr. Alan Suminguit and Mrs. Cora Diocadiz were the ones who received me at the airport. Mr. Suminguit and Mrs. Diocadiz briefed me of the current situation of the center. All bills were three months behind, communication lines were cut off. A real challenge for my leadership, and since most members have hang ups and I felt hopeless about the Davao situation. I believe as long as there is one person who could really stand, there is hope. Thanks very much to Mrs. Cora Diocadiz, who stood hard to keep the center up and running.
My first task was to visit all members who supported the center before. However, I had difficulty since I do not have a heartistic connection with the elders in the area. Fortunately, Dr. Edgar Tanate was scheduled to tour the Mindanao and at that moment, he was going to General Santos. So when I arrived at Davao, I immediately proceed to General Santos City and I met first the members of Gen San. After the activities in Gen San, we proceed to Davao and after the activities that happen also in Davao I ask to visit members homes. I am very thankful to Ate Cora who really supported me in this. She guided me to visit the members. At first, I visited Mr. Caballero but he was too busy and his wife is the one who welcomed me.
Then I visited Dr. Balili, and he was very happy to tell stories of his early experiences in the movement. He is very determined to support our activities in Davao area. Since the rally for the 12,000 sites is ongoing, Mr. Jun Presores arranged for our schedule for Barangay Blessing. However, when I was in General Santos City members in Davao already conducted their own respective Barangay and clan blessing; like Mr. Caballero in his tribe, Dr. Elsie Gagabe in her classes at the Davao City National High School and Mr. Pedro Vilbar and Mrs. Tita Busque in Tagum City and Sto. Tomas Davao del Norte.
I started visiting members homes and areas, like in Toril the parents of Dr. Allan Cadano. Nanay Cadano was very happy when I visited her and always asking when will Dr. Allan Cadano visits again Davao. Also during Sunday Service many members came to welcome me. The Cueme parents attend and others. I also visited the Tagum City like the home of Mr. Pedro Vilbar and Tita Busque. I also visited the residence of Mr. Raul Caballero, and we discuss things on how to strengthen again the providence in Davao. He was very enthusiastic and hopeful that we can do something.
Only if my body is multiple I would like to visit all members as soon as I can. The last home I visited for the month of February is the Maestrado family in Calinan. Al Maestrados' mother was very happy as we visited them together with Mr. Cora Diocadiz and Rowena Encina. I determine to visit as many members as I could this coming month of March.
As cluster leaders were appointed, our Sunday Service will be conducted also by clusters so that members who are very far, they can conduct also service in their respective areas. I will tour in their areas and at least only once a month they will go the Regional Headquarter, every 1st Sunday of the month. The other Sunday would be Hoon Dok style in their own areas. As I will also tour in the different cluster areas to conduct fellowship. The Regional center will continue its service every Sunday for those staying only in the city and that close municipality in Davao city. Not only service but also visitation to the neighboring families and will conduct seminar in the afternoon.
Some members also visited me in the center like Joel Papong and Bhong Gloria, expecting that we will be makes a new start in Davao again and brings result for God and True Parents.
I hope I can visit more families these coming months. I thank Mr. Raul Caballero for lending me a vehicle to tour all members in the areas of Davao to follow up and inspire the members with the new providence of True Parents. I hope with this effort we can revive the spirit of all members who sacrificed in the past and move on with their lives according to the expectation of God and True Parents. In addition, and raise new members to lead the providence.
Success to Southern Mindanao!
