When True Father the Rev. Sun Myung Moon directed all unificationists to do Tribal Leadership, most of us asked, how? By reading from the many speeches of True Father, we can learn much about Tribal Messiaship. In this, feature I would like to share how one of our members did start onto it.

Mr. Raul and Nobue Caballero started their substantial tribal leadership in Nabunturan Town, Compostella Valley with a heart of following True Parents and the mind to serve for others. They programmed their vision to projects and conducted activities in Nabunturan, to help the young people and families. How?

Entering politics may not be the better nor the best way to make a restoration of our tribe and the area. However, Mr. Raul Caballero was requested by the people in his hometown to run as municipal councilor. He considered that as one way. At first, he has much time overcoming to speak in front of many people during election campaign. In fact instead of stating his platform and do campaign mobilization, he was in his business selling cars. He was used of selling surplus cars as his business. However, he always remind himself of his responsibility as Tribal Leader in this town.

That is why even during campaign there are people asking to buy 2nd hand cars from him. In his campaign, the advocacy that he is pushing is the Education of young people. Education not only inside the traditional school but also internal education through leadership seminar with the Unification Principle of leadership. He also advocates to continue the scholarship program that his elder brother (Mesael Caballero) who died in an accident. He also advocates raising the standard of morality in the town of Nabunturan thru barangay moral leadership campaign and seminars.

In addition, he encourages the people of his town to contribute to help develop the basic services in his town and he promised to bring many investors. Providentially after the tiring campaign and waiting for the result of voting he won in 2nd place as councilor in the town of Nabunturan, Compostella Valley. Among his colleagues from provincial down to town slate, only Mr. Raul Caballero entered and won.

After the declaration and oath taking, he started immediately what he had promised and conduct a social campaign to raise the morality of the town thru moral value seminars and orientation meetings in every barangay of Nabunturan.

During the moral values campaign, many were afraid of raising popularity of Mr. Raul Caballero for many were encouraged and understood the importance of his campaign to the development of the town. Even Mr. Raul Caballero is not appearing to the barangay during the campaign he became known because of what we teach to the people.

We conducted the Values seminar to 9 barangays but political pressures started to hit Mr. Raul Caballero and many hindrances were coming out. This really showed the political system of the country, that they are thinking of their own personal desires rather than the welfare of their constituents and their area.

The moral values campaign of Mr. Raul Caballero was being stopped by the town hall officials for many reasons. However, he is determining to continue it for the sake of the people and of his hometown.

As he promised to the people, he started to build the office of the Foundation (Mesael Caballero Foundation) in the town of Nabunturan. One of its programs is the scholarship programs where the "Iskolar ni Raul" were already benefiting from it. They organized themselves as a student organization that can do academic and community services as well in their locality.

At the same, time the building is set to be an extension office/center of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification-Davao chapter. In that, office we will use it a as training and seminar venue to educate people with the Unification Principle and train young people to be future leaders in the society.
