The Words of the Barrett Family |
"I took part in the Blessed Couples workshop for the first time from the 3rd to the 6th of March. The workshop was held in a holiday home in Colmar/France, in a beautiful little village on a hill, with a stream running outside the window.
The schedule was quite relaxed and flexible. We woke up for Hoon Dok Hae, had a few morning sessions with marriage guidance, site-seeing in the afternoons and a few times ate dinner out in local restaurants.
The morning sessions were with a Lovely 1st Generation lady called Lubelia, who is a professional counselor living in Germany. The sessions were held in a circle to create an atmosphere in which sharing with each other was easier. The sessions had really interesting content, getting in to some of the psychology of why we are the way we are, why we have the struggles that we do and how it affects our relationships. So it is important to heal our own issues and not have expectations from our partners to do that for us.
There was a nice variety of couples there in different stages of their relationships. Some had been blessed for 2 years some 10 years one couple had a new baby, one soon to be a mother, so it was interesting to learn from each other and think about the future.
It was a very new experience for me, being my first couple's workshop and even stranger that I was their without my "other half", however it was a nice experience all the same!
Whether you have just been blessed, or have been blessed for 10 years I would definitely recommend it."
This Blessed Couples Workshop was led by the ESGD, and there will be more similar and valuable activities in the future for Blessed 2nd Generation. This activity was attended by 5 British sisters, and we encourage you to try and attend more European Level activities in the future! Another report, and more photographs, are on their website here www.esgd.org/565.html. Check the website regularly for testimonies, news and photographs.
