It has been four years since we met our pastors, Jhon and Marina Acevedo, in one of their HDFC meetings. We give thanks to God that we found them. We were a couple looking for relief, peace, compassion and respect. We also had a lot of economic and marital difficulties at that time. We tried professional help and many different religions to save our marriage and to help us, but it was only in the HDFC meetings we could find the spiritual food we had been longing for.
From the beginning we realized we had a deep spiritual hunger and thirst for the truth. We studied the Divine Principle and came to a deep understanding of the emptiness we had as individuals and as a couple. We realized that there are thousands of couples and families like us who desire to have a better family. As we grow through Hoon Dok Hae and living for the sake of others we feel more gratitude to our True Parents
We admire and respect our leaders, Jhon and Marina Acevedo for the patience, love and the dedication they have shown towards us. Through their example we have learned to love and respect our True Parents. We are so grateful for what they have done for our family; we will never know how to repay them.
Today we are a Blessed Family. We have a lot of love, respect and compassion in our home and we feel we are the fruit of Jhon and Marina’s hard work. We have blessed 60 of our family, friends and relatives here in the Chicago area and we have been able to travel to Guatemala where we blessed all of our tribes.
2007 was the turning point in our lives; we were able to attend the Blessing and Forgiveness ceremony in February and in April we bought our first house, the realization of our American Dream.
Thank you to Heavenly Father, True Parents, Rev. David Rendell, to my cousin and most especially to our beloved mentors, Jhon and Marina Acevedo. Through their unconditional love, patience, dedication and rigid education, we have become a Blessed Central Family. We are proud members of the Chicago Family church and leaders of the Guatemalan Family Fellowship (HDFC) group.
