Mother wins in Unification Church lawsuit

The Seoul West District Court on Friday, Feb. 17, ruled against the plaintiff in the case where WTA, a company operated by Hyun Jin Moon, 43, third son of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, had sued the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification Mission Foundation, headed by Hyun Jin's mother Hak Ja Han, 69, seeking the return of 24.1 billion won ($21,400,000) in alleged unjustified gains. The court in its ruling said that the 24.1 billion won sent by WTA to Mission Foundation was not an illegal transfer, and was based on a contract. The court ordered Mission Foundation to return 319,130,000 won ($280,000) to WTA in addition to the amount it had already returned.
