I would like to inform you of the passing to the spiritual world of my spiritual parent, Mrs. Brenda Ferguson, who finally lost her courageous battle with terminal cancer last Saturday, 15th January 2011.
Brenda was one of the earliest members of our movement in this nation. She joined in 1972, having attended lectures given by True Father on his very first visit to this nation. She was deeply moved by True Father's spirit and the content of the lecture, and soon joined the "family", giving up her flat, and a promising career in nursing.
When Brenda witnessed to me in 1973, as part of a mobile team, I was so impressed by her calm and warm spirit, and sympathetic nature. Normally I would have been very reluctant to listen to such words from a stranger, but from the beginning I felt I could trust Brenda.
Brenda served True Parents with a dedicated and sacrificial heart for several years, and even in later years when she married and had a family, she continued her hard work and investment by supporting IRFF, and also serving her community. She was recognized by being given a "Citizen of the Year Award", and later being nominated as "Silver Surfer of the Year".
Brenda was someone who loved God, loved her family and loved and served her community with a sacrificial and caring heart.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to her husband, Brian, and sons Timothy and Robert at this time.
Let's keep our dear sister in our prayers as she takes her well-deserved place with the saints and great people of the past in the Spiritual Realm.
