The Words of the Futila Family |
Eleven years after the Chung Pyung Providence started the Ancestor Liberations, the FFWPU The Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is the largest community of our FFWPU movement in Africa, is finally blessed to receive the benefit of this special grace from heaven. In the last eleven years, because of financial difficulties of most of our African members, only a very limited number were able to travel to Chung Pyung to attend the Ancestor Liberation Seminar. We realized that the only way to solve this problem was to invite Dae Mo Nim to the Congo. Although the consent was finally obtained two years ago, to the delight and joy of all our community, we had to wait until now to see our prayers and dreams realized.
The emotion was at its high on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 6:18 pm local time, when the flight of Air France carrying Dae Mo Nim and her staff landed at the Kinshasa international airport. The seminar was attended by over 2,500 brothers and sisters, not only from Kinshasa and other provinces of Congo, but also from the countries of Angola, Cabinda, South Africa, Gabon, Swaziland, Zambia, Sudan, Rwanda, Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville. All gathered in Kinshasa to attend this historic event. Dae Mo Nim was impressed and deeply moved by this big crowd and mostly by the presence of an important group of our second generation.
We had an arrangement with the immigration authorities to facilitate her safe and honorable entry in the country. Official instruction was given at the airport so that Dae Mo Nim could be received in the special salon, used only by the members of the government and other VIPs.
She received a warm welcome from the African soul, mixed with the feelings of joy, hope, and high expectation.
The national police escort was in place to facilitate her quick and safe transportation from the airport to Kinshasa downtown. The same national police took the security measures to protect her during her stay which lasted 3 days, from May 23-25, and to make sure that the event went well. The presidential suites of “Grand Hotel de Kinshasa” that we used in 1995 to lodge True Parents, served again this time to welcome Dae Mo Nim and her staff.
Beside the Cheon Pyung staff which accompanied Dae Mo Nim, we were also honored and blessed with the presence of Rev. and Mrs. Tokuno, Continental Director for Africa; Rev Hee Sun Ji who, during this event, was presented to the community and took officially his responsibility as our new Continental Director of Africa; Rev and Mrs Chang Cheung Keun, and Rev Kaneko, our National Messiahs. The national leaders of Kenya, Gabon, Congo- Brazzaville, also came together with their members.
The two first days of the workshop were dedicated to the “ansu” sessions under the guidance of Rev Lee Myung Kwan, with the support of a special group composed of our joyful second generation youth. The main ceremony had to take place the third day. At that time, as is often the case, a test of faith occurred! The electricity went off! Members began immediately an intense prayer condition, and curiously the situation was restored back to normal just before Dae Mo Nim entered the temple which was beautifully decorated for the event!
In her message to the members, Dae Mo Nim explained the situation of our ancestors, who due to their ignorance of the Principle lived in sexual immorality and lies. She expressed her concern for the miserable life conditions of most of our members and the future of our second generation. Dae Mo Nim insisted on the our attitude and our life after this ceremony. She recommended strongly to not smoke, not drink alcohol and not fall again into sexual immorality. We should attend regularly Sunday Service and organize Hoon Dok Hae in our homes and with our neighbors.
To the national leaders she invited at the hotel, Dae Mo Nim insisted on the education of their members to have a sense of responsibility for the development of the abundant natural resources that God placed in Africa in general, and in the DR Congo in particular.
There is no doubt among all Congolese brothers and sisters who gathered in Kinshasa at this time, that this event marks the beginning of a new bright and promising era for God’s work in D.R Congo. It is also a preparation for the coming of Hyun Jin Nim in August of this year to officiate the Global Peace Festival.
In order to realize successfully this historic event we needed strong financial means. We have to admit that we could not manage it by ourselves. We spent $27,000 for the restoration and improvement of the standard of our temple which held the event, $5,000 to restore and purchase some equipment for the church National HQ, $27.000 for the lodging and food for the participants. Therefore we cannot close this report without expressing our thanks and gratitude to those who by their financial and spiritual support contributed to this victory.
We think of our Congolese members abroad who contributed $3,000, to our elder brother Rev Kalamba Kayembe who together with our former missionaries, Mrs Pamela Stein and Jacques Marion, and to our National Messiah Rev Chang Cheung Keun, who as a team, organized a fundraising campaign among international church members, especially in Europe and in the USA. $11,000 was collected and sent to Africa HQ, which served for the lodging of Dae Mo Nim and her staff, as well as to liberate 88 Congolese brothers and sisters who ascended to the spiritual world since the mission started in 1975 until this day. We also want to thank the Japanese church, through Rev Tokuno, for its support.
During Rev Tokuno’s short term as African Continental Leader, we look at this event of bringing Dae Mo Nim to Africa as his greatest achievement and best gift to us. We pray for the success of his new mission as the President of the Japanese Church and we hope that he will continue to support and work for the development of God’s providence in Africa as well.
Africa Aju!
