The Words of the Goldberg Family |
Dear Families,
This week our message is totally centered -- on God and True Parents. Note the format which my computer demands as I write. Sometimes the universe gives us a message, right?
The Bible teaches us to..." be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Also, we know that the body is meant to be the temple of God.
Wouldn't it be great if we could go to a whole new level of health and well being? The fact is, God provides us with many ways to do this. Please consider these points.
Cutting edge medical research tells us, according to Dr. Oz, that we can reinvent our brains. Here's how:
Take 10,000 steps a day and work your muscles as well. In one six year study, working out three times a week reduced the risk of Alzheimer's by a third.
Eat as if you are on a Mediterranean island. Yep, if you can't go there, you can eat as if you could. Whole grains, fresh produce, olive oil, lots of fish and some nuts in your diet promote health and control blood pressure.
Find something you love to do, and do it. Stress kills brain connections and memory. Use guided imagery, listen to beautiful music and laugh a lot. That may sound funny, but it's true. Laughing makes you live longer and it's fun and cheap too!
See you in church this Sunday,
Pastor Matthew and Marianne
Goldberg

Kids' Club is restarting for BC boys and girls ages 7 -11. This is a very fun and interactive group that wants to learn more about developing an intimate and true relationship with God, loving all people as God does, mind and body unity through learning to control our actions and living for the sake of others by doing good deeds and service projects. We sing songs, have a prayer, and I teach a lesson on applying Divine Principle. We do a craft or play a game and then have a snack. Each child should bring a $2 donation to cover our activities. (The $2 should be earned by doing some chores for the parents). We will meet Saturday, September 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Youth Center, 12204 Lisborough Road, Bowie, MD 20720. Please let me know if your child will attend. Mary Holden -- Concha Marchitelli.
