Dear Brothers and Sisters,

March is mulch month in many parts of this tree-mendous state of Maryland. Some of you are out in the garden spreading the woody smelling stuff all over your flower and tree beds this week. How refreshing to know that Spring really is just around the corner!

Out in the "hundred acre wood" that lies beyond our apartment complex, there are streams and rivulets growing due to these beautiful rains, swelling the earth and filling the lakes with life giving water.

This reminds me of the lovely passage from the book of Jeremiah:

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me, I will be found by you," says the LORD. "I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes, I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and bring you home again to your own land."

This month is also International Women's Month.

A battle royal is going on right now in Annapolis over attempts to redefine marriage as something other than a union between a man and a woman. Please inform yourself and make your voice heard to your elected representatives.

Your pastor just flew back from Las Vegas this week. My arms are still sore from all the flapping! Please join me after Sunday Service this week if you would like to hear the latest breaking news about the activities there. It was a dramatic and impressive two days filled with spiritual power and Godly celebration.

See you on Sunday.

Pastor Matthew and Marianne Goldberg
