Happy Earth Day … Appreciate the earth. Hug a tree. Lay on the grass. Take a walk in gratitude.

Many of you know that I like to go into my neighborhood and meet people. If I knock and they aren’t home I will sometimes leave a little note. A few months ago, I left a card with a verse from Rev. 3:20 which said, "Behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him."

I was happy when a found a card on my door a few days later. All it read was Gen 3:10. I looked it up "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid, because I was naked."

It’s an honor to speak here. I can’t imagine a more esteemed audience at this time in history.

God’s Way, Every Day

We were created to be one with God. "I am in the Father and the Father in Me, and I in you." Jesus was coaching his disciples about how to know God’s ways and how to become one with God, before he went to the cross. (Jn:14)

Up until the time of Jesus, the way to please God was to study and obey the Laws of Moses in the Old Testament. But Jesus, the Messiah, was asking us to be one with him and one with God. To make God’s way our way, every day.

We should make becoming one with God our number one priority because it is where we belong. It is our true home. In living God’s way, you will be most comfortable and peaceful. If we don’t become one with God we will always be little lost and a little "off" Uniting with God should be our number one priority because this would make God happy and free.

Another reason is becoming one with God will help us to attain all our desires. The first line in the revelation of the Divine Principle. Is everyone is struggling to attain happiness and avoid misfortune. Why is it the first sentence … It’s what God’s word is all about.

Living God’s way helps you to have true happiness all the time.

What would make you happy? Wisdom? More Prosperity? True Love? Peace not anxiety? Healing not pain? Most of the time we don’t even know. But God knows. God knows who you are, where you came from and what you need that will make us Happy.

Jesus promises in John 14:13 … I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it.

Some of you may say, "Well, Robin, I have asked and asked and God’s phone is off the hook every time I call."

Here is a clue …

Whenever there is a Bible verse you don’t believe or understand … read on. After Jesus says: You may ask me for anything in my name and I will do it. The next verse in "John 14:15 If you love me, you will obey what I command.

How can we get the happiness we want? By knowing and obeying the truth. This builds room in our original mind for God. And then perfect love will follow.

Our Original Mind

Until the Father is in us and we naturally share everything with him, every day we must strive to expand where God dwells. I Cor 3:16. Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that god’s Spirit dwells in you? WHERE IN THE TEMPLE?

The Divine Principle calls this place, our original mind. Our original mind is where God dwells. Every person has an original mind which directs him toward goodness.

Our conscience

Your original mind is not your conscience. The interaction between your spirit’s mind (which is seeking love, beauty and goodness) and your physical mind forms your conscience. Your physical mind is influenced by all the things that your physical senses are experiencing plus the collective consciousness of the society around you.

Be very diligent about what you are exposing yourself too

The relationship between our spiritual mind and our physical mind form our conscience. Each person’s standard of conscience differs from one another according to their opinion of what is true.

Wherever a different view of truth is held, a different direction of conscience will exist. It is from our conscience that we make all our decisions. Young Mr. Cho’s conscience let him take the lives of many students plus his own. The Jewish teacher’s conscience’s standard was it is right to sacrifice your life for others and he barred the door to save the students in his class.

In a Christ-like person, our conscience is blended with our original mind. We become the dwelling place of God.

We become Powerful in love. We can make anything happen

Creative – we can’t help ourselves.

My friend Leanna is an award winning artist. She creates artist quilts that can make your heart turn over. When do her ideas come, how does she find herself in the zone, and what is it like?

(Leanna gives a testimony)

HOW? We can move our conscience to be in line with the light of our original mind by Receiving God’s grace which is ever flowing and always available, and/or Obeying and practicing God’s words.

1. Grace

When you are very still and quiet, you can feel the peace and love in the universe through your original mind. Some even can hear the voice of God. Many of you go there for love, for strength, for wisdom, or for companionship.

Maria – wakes up very early, going to a beautiful place she created and meditates. Emptying her mind to receive God. Our thoughts become reality.

As a man thinketh, in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7

If your mind is filled with lack of finances or lack of health, this thought will manifest itself. Those thoughts are occupying the space that the Mind of God needs to occupy for us to experience the needed change. Open your heart and mind with the peace and presence of God. Fill our space with Light, contentment and Joy. God’s grace is like the sun. Always shining, always there. Be still. Open up.

"As you believe, so be it done to you." Matthew 8:13

2. The other way to let God Dwell in you is to use God’s word as a tool.

The Divine Principle teaches that while we are growing to be Christ-like, in the indirect dominion of God, we have to make an effort to believe God’s Word and the Messiah and obey him. Because your ancestors disobeyed God and fell away from His all embracing love and guidance, we are, as Jesus pointed out, "Of our Father the Devil. Almost none of our first experiences have been within the realm of God’s powerful love.

Our first experience with anything will leave an impression; an imprint. Your first grade teacher left an impression that influenced you about learning. If you were told how smart you were -- you were going back for more! If you were embarrassed and everyone laughed, you probably didn’t like school.

If your first experience with swimming was being lovingly eased into the water and playfully learning to swim you probably like water vs. if you were thrown in to fend for yourself.

If your first sexual stimulation and release was with your wife what you trust and love, your imprint of sex is safe, satisfying feeling of not only physical but spiritual unity with a woman vs. self stimulation while you fantasize with photos of pornography.

Our many impressions or imprints are imbedded experiences, based on lies. These false impressions influence our understanding or what is true on a deep level.

I’m stupid
I’ll drown
I need pornography to be satisfied.
God doesn’t care or
I can’t Witness

I carried an imprint that "Men are bad." From the women in my family -- maybe from down in the collective consciousness of all women. When I got close to home I would feel a Rage driving home to my husband. I got over it. Both works … fasting, prayer, living god’s way to best of my ability and when these didn’t work, just go to bed. And by the Grace of God … one day the feeling was gone.

Because much of our first experiences were in a world ruled by immature, needy people, we have to modify our behavior in order to correct them. It takes time and effort but it can be done.

If you learned to snowboard by someone who taught you to keep your feet flat, you would fall every 20 feet. You would need to retrain yourself the right way. To improve you have to unlearn old habits and learn the best skills correctly.

To be good at living God’s way, every day, you have to develop certain skills.

Skills To Practice

To inherit God’s way is we need to practice God’s skills of giving Grace, Holiness, Mercy, righteousness, patience and wisdom. Theologian Carl Bath calls these six attributes "the perfections of the divine loving". Let’s explore how to practice these skills. But we need Other People. Our neighborhood, mission country, or workplace is like a free spiritual "workout club".

God is Gracious - Out of His grace, God seeks fellowship with every person and ties Himself to them with bonds of affection. To copy this, we must meet people where they are and enjoy it. There is always something to give. As soon as we stop thinking or how we look, or what is next on our list, we will see a chance to GIVE God is infinite Holiness –Webster’s "Holy=Morally and spiritually perfect. Sinless. ’I HEARD THAT- "Impossible." That was NOT FROM YOUR ORIGINAL MIND! Mat 5:48 "you must be perfect as your Heavenly Father is Perfect." Perfect in love. Read it. "But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. To copy God’s Holiness, you must love those who are hard to love and not give up.

God is infinitely merciful – According to the Psalms, God is compassionate and gracious, long-suffering and forever constant. His tender care rests upon all his creatures. We, too, must rest out tender can on all his creatures. (I have an example of how to do this.) I regularly visit the home in our neighborhood that sports a confederate flag, and the home of the lesbians and the home of the ex-Baltimore cop across the street that is at war with the lesbians. They are surprised and wonder why I come, but my mind is that God loves and cares for every living thing.

God is infinite righteousness – God is a just God. To enjoy his blessings, one has to be law-abiding and upright. To practice this skill, we must help our world-family to understand the laws of God. And it can really be uncomfortable. I went shopping with a new friend and her daughter is a waitress in a popular nightclub. Her daughter was breaking up with one of the bouncers and didn’t know what to say … Her mom guided her to play the game and pretend she didn’t care. They asked me what I thought. I tactfully got to the core of the issue, and suggested she wait to date.

God is infinitely patient – Throughout history He has given mankind time to mature religiously and morally. He watches as we profit from our mistakes and gradually overcome our weaknesses of character. If he can do this for 6000 years, I can certainly practice not interfering when my son doesn’t go to bed when I think he should. Practice patience. Pray, don’t nag.

God is infinite in His wisdom – we can be confident in our relations with Him because He is all wise. How can we practice this? By studying his word every day, living it and when someone asks our opinion, go into your original mind and give God’s POV, not your own. I have a long way to go but I think of Kim Dadachinji. She may look like she is staring into space, but she is talking to God. In conclusion, the place were all 6 of these attributes are encompassed is in the parental heart. As you meditate and make room for God, or practice being like God by obeying his word, you will find that your heart will become sensitive and caring to all living things. You will be inspired to give gifts, guidance and blessings to all you meet. Let us wake up each morning with the understanding that God is in us and we are God’s Way, every Day.
