Intramuros WCARP Center Inaugurated
Aldrin Nituma
August 27, 2007
Manila - The WCARP Philippines has broadened the horizon as it restores the Intramuros Center last August 9, 2007 when a ribbon was cut to open the WCARP Office at Rm. 315 3rd floor of Herald Building in Intramuros. President Aldrin Nituma designated Froilan L. Matbagan Jr. as the Center/Office Leader of Intramuros Center where several Manila student-members will be connecting in there.
The Inauguration was graced by President Aldrin Nituma, VP-Education Edmon Pacson, SFP Pres. Caroline Ninonuevo, Cubao Center Leader Rene Lansangan, Taft Center Leader Rencel Laycano, Quiapo Center Leader Alma Albon, UP WCARP Chapter Leader Noel Dacanay and representatives, Richell Jalipa who just arrived form USA, Allan Cadano of La Union and Japan, and others.
Student-members from Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippine Normal University, CCM Letran, PLM or Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Manila and nearby colleges were also present during the inauguration.
Messages from well-wishers and leaders were said by Pres. Nituma, VP Pacson, Pres. Ninonuevo, and others gave not only colors in the ceremony.
It is remembered that Intramuros Center was pioneered way back 1982 by no other than the former Ilocana Mila Balanay. Several leaders who still are at the frontline holding national roles and functions came from that Intramuros Center. A few of them are Celestino Joseph Navalta, Ma. Ann Montejo, Edgar Tanate and others who are now based in the international community like James Paranada, Luz Sofia, Sheila Tagpis, Fe Miranda, Joseph Villanueva and others.
Mr. Matbagan mentioned in his acceptance speech that together with the Intramuros-Manila student-members and some alumni, he is set to lead the WCARP Center as planned by the WCARP Philippines and NCR Region. He calls for the alumni too to give once again their loyalty and support to the re-opened Intramuros C enter. He acknowledges a few who already send some supports like Mr. Darwin Siagan who shared a gallon of paint, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Sanchez who donated a cooler fan and a few who collectively shared for the sofa and office tables and chairs.
Intramuros center is expected to cater the education and learning needs of the drop-by students and invited friends and schoolmates of the student members and the general witnessing as a whole.
