206. What Is Happiness?

(Shiawasette Nan Daro?)

"What do you think that happiness is?"
G               C
So I brought my question to the stars.
Am
"Most important is for people to be friends,"
      G C
Said the stars with on accord.
  G C G
"Shining sun is at the center of us all;
  C F	G
Twinkling the nine of us go round the sun,
 F C Am		G	C
And the light of Love is given to us all; this we know is happiness"
"What do you think that happiness is?"
Now I asked the flowers to respond.
"We compete in sharing beauty all around,"
Was the answer of the rose.
"Dressing with care in red and white and yellow robes,
Every blossom is a joy to see;
So when people say how beautiful we are,
This we know is happiness."
"What do you think that happiness is?"
Now I asked the busy meadowlarks.
"We delight in flying high and very far,"
Sang the larks in joyful song.
"Though we're soaring ever higher than before,
Sky is above us even higher still;
So forever we'll discover greater heights;
This we know is happiness."
"What do you think that happiness is?"
So I asked a flock of gentle sheep.
"Joy is searching for and following the Lord,"
Said the sheep in soft reply.
"Should the wolves be creeping over to attack,
We only listen to the Shepherd's voice.
Our Lord gives to us security and calm;
This we know is happiness."
