The pledge service and commemorative ceremony for the 20th Foundation Day for the Unified Nation of Heaven and Earth took place in the main hall of the Cheon Jeong Gung Museum on October 3, 2007. More than 1,800 participants were there that day including heads of providential organizations and companies in Korea, national messiahs, local and oversea members and invited ambassadors for peace. The service began at 8:00 a.m.

During the ceremony to commemorate the 17th Foundation Day for the Nation of the Unified World, Father declared the opening of the gates to the Unified Nation of Heaven and Earth; all debts pertaining to the era of restoration was paid and a new age was opening through the Holy Wine Ceremony. Father gave instructions that this Holy Day should from then on be celebrated as the Foundation Day for the Unified Nation of Heaven and Earth.

According to these instructions, from 2005 this Holy Day was celebrated as the Foundation Day for the Unified Nation of Heaven and Earth.

True Parents entered the room amidst the applause of the participants. They first lighted the holy candles that were set for the occasion.

Rev. Chung Hwan Kwak, the emcee, officially proclaimed the start of the ceremony. Beginning with the representatives of the True Family, representatives and members in turn offered a bow to God and True Parents. Rev. Kwak then guided everyone in the recital of the family pledge. Rev. Kwak and his wife then came up to give the representative prayer. True Parents then cut the celebration cake. They then sat down at the offering table to taste the offering food.

Rev. Kwak then read the speech Father gave during the 18th Foundation Day for the Unified Nation of Heaven and Earth.

Excerpts from Rev. Kwak's hoondok reading:

"During a meeting that took place on October 3, 1988, True Parents explained that the realization of an ideal world must be achieved and perfected through both an external unification and internal unification.

The key to an external unification is the unity between democracy and communism; this was symbolically realized through the 1988 Seoul Olympics which had 160 nations participating in the games. To achieve the internal unification, True Parents declared the 'Foundation Day for the Nation of the Unified World' centering on 120 nations of the world."

After the hoondok reading the La Strada Ensemble came up and gave a special performance to commemorate the day. Mr. Kyung Tae Kim and his wife Mrs. Soon Woong Pak came up and offered a flower bouquet to True Parents.

Then amidst a thunderous applause True Parents both came to the podium.

As he comes to the podium Father explains: "Gae Chungook, 'the nation that will open the gates to heaven' -- this day should be celebrated with joy in that the gates to the heavenly nation have been opened."

True Father first has True Mother read a part of the speech Father gave at the launching of the Abel UN in New York on September 23. True Mother reads the part about Father being a champion in eight different fields.

True Father then begins to read the speech (a slightly revised version of Peace Message 13: A Providential View of the Pacific Rim Era in Light of God's Will: The United States and the Future Direction of the United Nations and the World) from the beginning.

The program ended with four cheers of eog mansei by Rev. Sun Jo Hwang.

Before the cheer Rev. Hwang explained:

"True Parents launched the Peace, Abel UN on the foundation of declaring [this year] a providential jubilee year. Today True Parents has blessed this day by declaring the 'nation that opens heaven.' Let us all raise both hands in welcoming this day with joy."
