"Let us realize world peace through reconciliation between religions and march forward for the establishment of an ideal nation through the perfection of families."

On October 24, 2006, 120 Protestant ministers, Catholic priests and other religious leaders from America spoke for peace in 120 locations in Japan.

The delegation was invited to Japan by President Hideo Oyamada of the IIFWP Japan and were the main speakers for the "Speech Rallies for World Peace" that were held in 16 locations in Tokyo including shrines, churches and community centers, and in other cities of Japan such as Osaka, Sapporo and Fukuoka.

The delegation consisted of Christian ministers, pastors, Catholic priests and other religious leaders that head Protestant and Catholic denominations in the 50 states of America. This is the first time in the religious history of Japan to have this many members of the clergy to visit Japan to speak on and appeal to the nation for the reconciliation of the religions and perfection of families.

In 120 separate locations in Japan in the morning of that day, the members of the delegation read from a prepared speech entitled, "God's Ideal Family and the Kingdom of the Peaceful, Ideal World." The host organizations explained this message was a new message of peace from God which was first delivered by Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, the founder of IIFWP.

In this speech, Rev. Moon had emphasized that "the time has come for all the nations of the world to mobilize their resources and march forward for the establishment of the kingdom of the peaceful, ideal world which is the cherished desire of God, the master of this universe." "Humankind in this age has the mission to liberate God from His bitter grief through the reconciliation between religions and the perfection of ideal families."

Over 40,000 participants including the religious, academic leaders and citizens of Japan listened attentively to this message.

Rev. Michael Jenkins who was in charge of the rallies in Tokyo said "The religious delegation that visited Japan consists of clergy from a variety of denominations. It is very encouraging to see them come to these events on their own volition to convey Rev. Moon's message to the world." "I personally am very happy and am honored to be able to spread this new message of peace from God to Japan."

What is noteworthy is that Christian ministers who believe in God were speaking at rallies that were held in shrines representing Japan's traditional faith. Earlier on October 21, these clergymen had delivered Rev. Moon's message in 120 locations in the United States. Following these events in Japan the delegation will go to Korea on the 26 and hold similar rallies in 120 locations there.

On the 27, the clergy visited the DMZ, Panmunjom and held a rally in hopes for the peaceful unification of the Korean peninsula. Following these speaking rallies in the US, Japan and Korea, the delegation will go on to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America to deliver this message in 120 cities in each nation.

IIFWP was founded on February 6, 1999 with the participation of 500 world leaders consisting of former and current heads of states, religious leaders and academic representatives. IIFWP is UN registered NGO.
