On March 27, 2012, complainant files charges Douglas (Dong Moon) Joo and Peter (Hyo Yul) Kim for breach of trust (Violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes) in relation to UCI and Preston (Hyun Jin) Moon's Washington Times Aviation (WTA). This leads to court proceedings.
Douglas (Dong Moon) Joo was charged with having caused damages to WTA while acting as CEO at WTA while Peter (Hyo Yul) Kim was charged with having conspired and colluded with Joo.
Douglas (Dong Moon) Joo was deemed to have possibly acted wrongly by making an unauthorized load to the Mission Foundation, but not to have violated Korean criminal laws. He was found not guilty.
Accordingly, Peter (Hyo Yul) Kim was also acquitted
The verdict was announced in a different court on the same day as the Times Aviation case.
On April 1, 2011, Preston (Hyun Jin) Moon and UCI's Y22 filed a 10 billion won damage claim against Kook Jin Moon, Peter (Hyo Yul) Kim, Sang Bo Lee, and Jin Shik Yoon for interfering with Y22 project.
Y22 claims defendants:
Interfered with recruiting efforts for investors for Y22 project.
Defaulted on its promise to support the development as stipulated by contract.
After two years of pleadings and submission of material, all UCI and Preston (Hyun Jin) Moon's Y22 claims were dismissed and all defendants were found not guilty. UCI and Preston (Hyun Jin) Moon's Y22 was ordered to pay all litigation costs for Kook Jin Moon, Peter (Hyo Yul) Kim, Sang Bo Lee, and Jin Shik Yoon.
