President Ram Baran Yadav skipped a pre-scheduled program organized by Global Peace Foundation on Saturday expressing dissatisfaction over the misuse of children and national flag.
The Foundation, which had been organizing various programs since past one week, organized a peace rally on Saturday with support from Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI).
The President's office had officially objected to the use of children in the programs and asked the organizers to stop involving children by writing a letter.
The President made up his mind not to attend the program when he learnt the national flag was hoisted along with the flag of the Foundation at the program.
The national flag was later removed by police at the instructions of Kathmandu District Administration.
The President and the administration expressed dissatisfaction for disrespecting the national flag by hoisting it alongside the flag of an organization.
