I had a chance to sit in on a conversation between Kook Jin Nim and Hoon Mo Nim this evening. The conversation took place over dinner in the True Family's suite in the Chung Pyung Heaven and Earth Training Center.
Hoon Mo Nim told Kook Jin Nim about some of the letters she has received from Blessed Families telling her about the various difficulties they face. These include problems with spouses who don't have faith and issues involving second generation children, particularly in the area of education. Hoon Mo Nim asked Kook Jin Nim whether more could be done to help such families.
Kook Jin Nim responded that he also has received similar information about difficulties faced by blessed families. He pointed out that more is being done about these problems now than in the past, and that still more will be done as funds become available. He also pointed out that the bad policies of past church administrations that were often the cause of such problems have been corrected.
"We know the limitations of our church, the areas where we are weak," Kook Jin Nim said. "We know where we need to invest additional funds, and as funds become available we will invest in those areas."
At the same time, he said, there needs to be a proper balance between what the church provides and what individuals do under their own responsibility.
Kook Jin Nim said that if people were to make donations and specify that the funds be used for the education of the children of Blessed Families, the church would certainly use such funds for the specified purpose.
Hoon Mo Nim also told Kook Jin Nim about the new church that is being built in the town of Sollak. It will seat close to 1,000 people in its sanctuary. She said the people who have donated funds toward the construction include about 300 towns people and others who are not members of our church. Most of these are small donations, but one non-member donated a million won.
