IIFWP-Pakistan Celebrates Prophet Mohammed’s Birthday

On a special request from Dr. Zulfiqar A. Kazmi, there was a special celebration event of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) in Lahore, Pakistan, May 23, 2002. Religious Leaders of all sects of Islam participated. All IIFWP designated Ambassador for Peace in Pakistan took an active part in this event. About five thousand people participated in the program.

Mr. Asif Mehmood, Mr. Zia-ul-Haque (IIFWP Pakistan Chapter VP,) Allama Maqsood Qadri (Grand Imam of Pakistan and IIFWP Ambassador for Peace,) greeted all Muslim leaders and participants on behalf of IIFWP-Pakistan. Dr. Kazmi sent a special message, expressing his hope that Pakistan will overcome all problems it faces. He conveyed IIFWP Chairman Rev. Kwak's belief that Pakistan has a very significant role to play not only for regional peace but for the entire world.

The IIFWP is focused on issues of spiritual, moral, and educational development, as well as on issues related to human rights, poverty, and nation building. In addition, the IIFWP stands for interreligious, interfaith, and intercultural harmony and cooperation. This is evidenced in many programs carried out by the IIFWP over the past years around the world. We seek to bring a voice of unity, harmony, and compassion to address the current crises.
