New Jersey: 2nd "One Heart International Festival"
by Rev. Geller
New Jersey Music and Arts (NJMA), a performing arts series sponsored by the Family Federation for World Peace of New Jersey and grant recipient from the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council since 2003, presented the "second One Heart International Festival" at the Woodrow Wilson Middle School Auditorium in Clifton, New Jersey, on April 3, 2005.
The theme of the series is "Beauty in Diversity," a celebration of the different cultures of the world. Among the performers were the Blessed Children performing arts groups of the Musical Angels, the Little Players, the New Hope Players and the One Heart Dancers.
We had the following professional performers: Michiyo Morikawa, concert pianist from Japan; Hyun Seung Son, operatic baritone from Korea; Elisa Servito, dancer from China; Karla Yeamans a Broadway singer from Clifton; Alehandro Olmedo, a tenor from Mexico; and the Zawadi School of African Dance.
There was an art exhibition by Gloria Marino, a local artist. Over 250 people attended, including councilwoman Jesse Dixon from Paterson. We are grateful to Rev. Dong Woo Kim, our regional director, for his vision and support of culture and the arts in New Jersey. The NJMA and the "One Heart Festival are directed by Mr. Francesco Santelli. Mr. Santelli has been working with our Blessed Children and other performers for more than five years. NJMA produces four different events annually.
