Wearing the traditional Korean Clothing
On July 21, 2008, the members of the 126th Chung Pyung 40-day Workshop for International 2nd Generation went to Chungshim Youth Center (Chung-a Camp) to experience Korean Culture. Among the many facilities that the Chung-a Camp has to offer, it also has programs for people all around the world to experience and know the Korean Culture. On this day, the members were to experience, the traditional archery, traditional tea and manners, and traditional drums.
After quickly dividing into 3 groups for archery, tea and manners and drums, the members quickly followed their instructors to their classes. Around 30 members went to the traditional tea room to understand traditional Korean tea and manners. Following the teacher’s instructions, the members learned how to give traditional bows, greetings and how to offer tea to guests. They also had a chance to wear traditional Korean clothing.
The other 30 members went to the basement of the Youth Center and learnt how to play the traditional drums. Following the rhythm of the instructor, the members enjoyed the melody of traditional Korea.
After a brief explanation of the traditional archery, the members went in the mountain behind the Chungshim Youth Center and shot some arrows. All of them got a chance to shoot some arrows and they seem to have great fun shooting it.
