True Parents' Commemorative 90th Birthday Celebration and Banquet

On February 19, 2010, (Heavenly Calendar January 6), at 11:00 am, 'True Parents' Commemorative 90th Birthday Celebration and Luncheon' was held at the Cheonseong Wanglim Palace (Heavenly Palace) of Chung Pyung Heaven and Earth Training Center, with True Parents, and members of the True Children; Seon Jin Nim, In Jin Nim, Kook Jin Nim, Hyung Jin Nim, Kwon Jin Nim and Seong Jin Nim.

On this day, around 1,000 members from around the world came to attend this celebration to congratulate True Parents' 90th Birthday.

Rev. Jun-ho Seok, President of FFWPU-Korea, was the emcee and the ceremony was held in the following order; True Parents' Cake Cutting, offering of flower bouquet, bowing, singing of the Cheon Il Guk Anthem, report prayer, introduction of distinguished guests, congratulatory address, offering of commemorative work and holy things, greetings and introduction of True Parents by Hyun Jin Nim, International President of FFWPU, Offering of True Parents' materials and giving words, toast, luncheon, and congratulatory performances.

First, messages from distinguished guests, such as President Obama of USA, and Stephen J. Thurston, former National Baptist Convention of America were read before the ceremony.

Cambodia Ambassador, H.E. Lim Samkol, Laos Ambassador H.E. Southavone Keola and H.E. Cruz, Philippines Ambassador, also attended and 17 parliament members including Mohd Hatta bin Md Ramli from Malaysia.

From Korea, Mr. Cheol-sun Lee, Director of Seoul Peace Awards, Mr. Mi-na Kim, Central President of Peace Ambassador, and Mr. Ul-don Kim, member of the parliament, and many other former and current VIPs came to attend and offered many flowers to True Parents.

In his speech, former Chairman of Philippines House of Parliaments Jose De Venecia said, 'I am so grateful to be able to attend Rev. Sung Myung Moon's 90th Birthday at a Palace of Peace. This '1.4 True Parents' Cosmic Blessing Ceremony' gave many blessings and hope to us and at the same time gave a clear purpose for humanity. Centering on this precious value of Rev. Sung Myung Moon, for the next 3 years until 2013, I promise to strive in activities of peace.'

Following the congratulatory address, to commemorate True Parents' 90th birthday, recently published 24 volumes of True Parents' Words and other publications were offered, and among the 194 nations, leading nations offered holy things to True Parents. From the prime minister of Nepal, a oil painting of the Everest, and a gold watch that represents long levity and health by Jong-il Kim, Chairman of National Defense Commission.

After the bestowing of hoondok materials there was a time for True Parents' speech. Rev. Hyo-yul Kim read the speech that True Parents prepared before hand.

"They say that it's time to enjoy the success of 90 years, looking back on the joyful memories, however, this is not the case with my wife. We are living our life with seriousness with the remaining 3 years. You must live the life that Rev. Moon has taught you to. Following the heavenly mission, look into the record of True Love of my life of 90 years and I hope that you can find something. I once again thank all people who have gathered here to celebrate me and my wife's birthday today".

Following Kook Jin Nim's toast, it was the luncheon and congratulatory performance. It was a time of joy and celebration. Then the ceremony ended with 3 cheers of Eok manse by Rev. Song-jo Hwang, President of UPF-Korea.
