2012 Prayer-Wish Purification Ceremony for Restoration

The Prayer-Wish Purification Ceremony for Restoration (Burning Ceremony) which is only held once a year in Chung Pyung Holy Ground was held at the CheongShim Peace World Center for the 1st time during the '2012 Purification Azalea Festival for the Inheritance of Heavenly Fortune' (Purification Azalea Festival) on the 15th day of the 3rd month of Yoon month (May 5, 2012) from 9:40 pm.

Fulfillment of Wishes Papers (Wish Papers) which are offered by the members with their sincere wishes are burnt during the Burning Ceremony. During this ceremony, a grace of expunging our ancestor's past wrong memories is received as well as liberation of a very strong evil spirit that is working against us in our body. Especially, this burning ceremony was held for the first time at the CheongShim Peace World Center which added greater meaning to this ceremony.

As all the members who filled the seats of the CheongShim Peace World Center watched over a commemorative video was presented. Through this video presentation, members attending from around the world understood the meaning of this burning ceremony and prepared themselves for the burning ceremony.

The ceremony began with the opening address by Rev. Myeong-gwan Lee, General Director of Chung Pyung Heaven and Earth Training Center, who was also the MC for the ceremony. Which was then followed by Rev. Mu-san Lee, Parish Leader for Daejeon Chungnam, representative prayer, and a congratulatory song offered by Mrs. Masako Akashi. She sang 'Morning Blessing' which is the famous 'Nessun Dorma' song but with different lyrics.

After the beautiful congratulatory song, 12 pairs of attendants entered the stage and lined towards the special ignition stand and at the same time, at the main entrance of the CheongShim Peace World Center, 54 attendants entered the special stage surrounding the altar. The attendants represent the path to the gates of heaven which connects our sincere wish with True Parents.

After the entrance of all 78 attendants, Rev. Myeon-rak Lee, Daegu Gyeongbok Parish Leader, as the representative of all the members, read the Words of Liberation and Practice which is also known as the Words of Gratitude to Heaven.

With a great warm applause by all the attending members, Heung Jin Nim and Dae Mo Nim appeared in front of the ignition stand. All the wish papers that were offered to Dae Mo Nim in the past year was collected and stacked inside the altar located outside by 10 church leaders (4 Korean, 4 Japanese, and 2 International).

After passing the light to 4 igniters representing the world (President Dong-sok Jeon, President Myeong-dae Kim, Boongbongwan Hideo Oyamada, Rev. Gil-ram Park, Incheon Gyeonggi buk bu Parish Leader), they lit the ignition stand together. The fire which was then passed outside lit great fire to the holy altar. The altar burnt very high carrying all the members' sincere heart and wishes to the heavens. All the members prayed, 'God, True Parents we are so grateful!'.

All members wept as they saw the wish papers being burnt in the altar. Then there was a time to offer a sincere prayer with Dae Mo Nim on the stage.

There was another performance by Mrs. Akashi who sang 'Amazing Grace' with confetti that represented 440 billion absolute good spirits falling from the ceiling. The 70 exchange students from Japan (Sun Moon University, Seonghwa Arts School, Seon Jeong High School) performed a great dance and song.

4 cheers of Eog-manse was offered by Rev. Ju-bong Jeong which also ended the '2012 Prayer-Wish Purification Ceremony for Restoration'.
