Who Owns the Public Assets of the Sanctuary?
Hoon Mo Nim's Family?
How Did Hyo Nam Kim and Jae Bong Kim Accumulate So Much Personal Wealth?
This report is being sent to you by: World Peace Association for the Protection of Public Assets [WPA-PPA] and, People's HQ for Protecting Sanctuary
The disturbing and shocking truth surrounding the operation of what should be a sacred training center under the spiritual ministry of Hyo Nam Kim/Hoon Mo Nim for the past 20 years is becoming more and more exposed. Indications are plainly visible in many places that the donations which are the product of faithful Japanese member's blood, sweat and tears and the donations sacrificially given by Korean members for the liberation of ancestors devotional and the precious devotion offering of the Western members for the furtherance of providence, are being improperly directed.
Through the successful providence directed by True Parents we have been able to establish the sacred Cheon Jung Gong, The World Peace Center, the Training Center, Silvertown and other properties and institutions. Hoon Mo Nim has been the leader in bringing forth this amazing providence and as a result, above all others, has received the most glory and reverential attendance. Accordingly she is in a position which must be exemplary and uphold the highest standards. But rather than being exemplary the facts and events that have emerged are cause for serious concerns that she is in reality at the heart of corruption and surreptitious accumulation of wealth.
The reality in our movement is that many elderly members who have followed the providential path for many decades are spending their last days in pain and suffering because they lack any means to pay for decent medical care. Many pastors who answered the call to become ministers and serve for a lifetime on the front lines of the providence are living at the level needing public welfare assistance and constantly living in fear and trembling and worry over how to come up with living expenses and tuition.
On the other hand if one looks at Hoon Mo Nim couple's lifestyle and the enormous wealth they have accumulated in their own private names one cannot help but wonder if they are indeed people who should be entrusted with the highest position of public trust and if they are not actually at the center of massive corruption and illegalities.
Hoon Mo Nim Couple resides in a luxurious apartment located at No. 71 Naesu-dong, Jongro-gu, Seoul which is in one of the most central locations in Seoul and which affords a direct view of the Presidential Residence. Their residence is called by the moniker "Morning at Kyung Hee Palace." It is a 52 pyung (1,850 sq. ft.) apartment and has a market value of over 1.3 billion won (US$1,170,000). This is not a small sum. Of course this kind of apartment would be totally out of reach for pastors working in the field and elderly members living in difficult circumstances. But to Hoon Mo Nim couple this is only a peanut size asset. You may ask can this be true? I will enumerate further facts below.
The Pine Ridge Resort and Golf Club boasting a 27 hole golf course is located in Kangwon Province near Sokcho city on the eastern seaboard of the Korean Peninsula. Its market value is nearly 200 billion won (US$182 million) and the owners are none other than Hoon Mo Nim couple (Hyo Nam Kim and Jae Bong Kim). People who are not familiar with the situation think that the Unification Church is the owner of this property but this is not the case. No matter how hard you look in the land ownership records there is no trace of any ownership by or connection to the Unification Church. But one may say in a democratic, capitalist society it is perfectly alright for people to make money doing business and build golf courses and resorts. But is this indeed the case with Hoon Mo Nim couple?
In Pyongchang County of Kangwon Province a deer farm complex called Cheonsung Aewon consisting of 400,000 pyung (14,233,200 sq. ft. or 324 acres) is also owned by Hyo Nam Kim and Jae Bong Kim. The market value of this land and facility is estimated at 50 billion won (US$45.5 million). An average Korean family could not even dream of owning this much property and facilities.
A building in Incheon city used as a kindergarten school and which generates considerable rental income is also owned by Hoon Mo Nim couple. An income generating building in a major city valued in the 100's of billion won (10's of million dollars) is also beyond the reach of average church members.
I am sure that the disclosure of just these 4 properties is already shocking and overwhelming but at the next opportunity we will continue to disclose more assets in greater detail.
Together the value of just these 4 properties disclosed so far comes to about 300 billion won (US$273 million). About 20 years ago Hyo Nam Kim and Jae Bong Kim operated an Ilhwa products distribution business in Sokcho city, Kangwon Province which went bankrupt creating losses for the Ilhwa company and themselves and damaging the Ilhwa company. Even criminal complaints and charges were brought against them. So how did they manage to accumulate such stupendous wealth starting as debtors on the run with no assets, a failed business and only a pile of debts to their name? With no apparent means of livelihood or source of income did they become fabulously wealthy by winning a huge lottery? Or did they manage to hide substantial assets from their bankruptcy and creditors and invest it afterwards to make it balloon into the assets that they now have? Our investigations have uncovered that it is neither of these fanciful cases; the reality is unfortunately a shocking case of illicit activity.
What we have found is that all of the nearly 300 billion won (US$273 million) of wealth came from self- dealings and exploitation of corrupt practices such as illegal kickbacks and payoffs in the building and operation of the Training Center. These methods were used to create the seed capital to set up ongoing siphoning operations. Through expansion and ceaseless application of these corrupt practices they have been continuously increasing their ill-gotten wealth. Can we just stand by and watch as this kind of massive, illicit siphoning of sacred assets goes on day after day, year after year?
We remember True Parents words…
"Even after you go to Spirit World one cannot escape from the terrible consequences of embezzling public funds..."
We remember the words of Hoon Mo Nim…
"We use all your contributions down to the last 10 won coin only for public purposes."
We remember how two corrupt public figures, former presidents Chun Doo Hwan and Noh Tae Woo, ended up.
They were made to return 100's of million dollars of illegitimately acquired assets and received long criminal prison sentences and had to spend some years in prison.
Is Jae Bong Kim a "second Kwak Chung Hwan?" and is Hoon Mo Nim group going to become a second "Kwak Group?"
