More on Hyun Kwang Kim

Dear Alumni,
I have received more information about Dr. Hyun Kwang Kim's passing. It was my mistake to mention overwork and stress (hearsay / conjecture). Dr. Anthony Guerra and Professor Moonsook Yoon have passed on more information, that I am sharing in order to revise my report.
"He was clearly a beloved young leader and was widely respected from the President on down. He was in charge of planning for the University and was attending a conference with peers from all Korean Universities in Chejudo.
"I heard that he died from an arterial infection that spread rapidly. I never heard mention of overwork and stress although he no doubt along with many folks had that too."
"The cause of his death isn't yet cleared, but I got some more information how he ended up leaving.
"He was physically weak before leaving for Cheju Island. It seemed that he hesitated for participating seminar because of his physical condition. Nevertheless, because the seminar is very important that he has to fulfill his responsibility, he pushed himself to go. During the seminar, he collapsed and nearly fainted out.
"He was sent to hospital and the notice was sent to his wife, Yasuko. Yasuko arrived at the hospital but there was not enough time to have calm conversation with Hyun Kwang. Only after few words, he left her behind. He was extremely swollen that she couldn't recognize. The doctor told her that his intestines were very weak and were virus infected. Yasuko doesn't recall any possibility that Hyun Kwang might have food poisoning.
I heard True Father got the news and blessed him with special title and permission to hold the Seung Hwa Ceremony at the HSA-UWC level. I guess that the seminar in Cheju Island was a very important event.
Hyun Kwang's official position at SMU was the Director of Planning Department. (I thought he was the director of theology department.) He has 2 sons (second grader and kindergartener). It seems that Hyun Kwang's last words expressed his concern about his sons' future."
