The Words of the Hendricks Family |
Nine new students joined the UTS student body to begin studies in January. Five hail from Korea, three from Japan and one from Turkey. The group as a whole dedicated the past four months to intensive English study in the Philippines in order to meet UTS's raised English language standards.
The students enrolled in the interfaith program, aimed at producing spiritual leaders, chaplains, non-governmental organization leaders, pastors and educators for the vital work of creating peace between people of diverse faiths.
Mr. Seong Ho Lee, representing the Unification Church International, hosted a welcome dinner at a local restaurant for the group and for a number of continuing students, including a contingent from Africa. Dr. and Mrs. Hendricks, the seminary's president and first lady, became acquainted with new and returning students in an enjoyable evening of food, testimonies and singing.
