Dear Regional Directors:

Here is my summary report for Rev. Pak. I hope that it gives you some ideas.

Harlem:

Working with Pre-Blessed Couples -- send them a newsletter, visit, phone, follow up on their friends. Invite them to Sunday Service, followed by lunch and lectures. She has several people interested in the matching. Unfortunately, most of them are from Africa and she thinks they may want to marry an American for immigration purposes.

Rev. Holt and Rev. Pierre-Louis met Dr. Washington. They had an hour long meeting and he said he will organize with them a TFVM seminar. Harlem will join the HCCI -- his ecumenical organization.

Bronx:

Witnessing to Spanish ministers.

Westchester:

Is organizing babysitting so that sisters can witness. Had two guests from sisters for an afternoon workshop on Sunday.

Queens:

Rev. Kung is assistant to the head campus minister at York College. He leads the weekly Bible study. He made a Second Generation Club for kids ten and older. They do Hoon Dok Hae and have recreation. Through this, some inactive families are now active. He is developing Sunday School, and more children are attending. He fills three rooms in the center for Sunday Service, and the sermon is piped in. Members are doing home church style witnessing in their communities. Rev. Kung belongs to the Queens Federation of Churches. This organization gave an award to our elder sister Angelina Moore, a plaque for faithful service. There were 400 ministers at the ceremony in a Roman Catholic Church.

Long Island:

Home church style, because members are spread far apart. The Doroski's have two matching candidates; the Corley's have one. There is a Sunday Service at Hempstead and one at Port Washington (centering on the Lays).

Brooklyn:

They are visiting ministers full-time. We had an ecumenical service with Rev. Evelyn John at 43rd Street. She brought her choir, and she spoke very positively about the UC. We are waiting for more clear and definite information about the Blessing '99. We can charter a plane for over 400 and the airfare for each is under $500. Brooklyn has 70 positive ministers.

Washington, DC:

Workshop last Saturday with 10 guests, lectures by McCarthy and Schanker. Guests came from the IOWC and "Singles Club 2000." Tomorrow night they will have a 3-hour TFV seminar at the Russia House, and are expecting 40 guests, including (at least) 3 ambassadors, other embassy personnel, and ministers. He is pushing western members to do Kodan -- so far they have collected over $9,000. They have organized 8 districts with 23 communities, each community has around 10 families. Welborn Rozier is making educational material for the communities. They hold workshops in the communities, and are developing Columbia Road for social action (because the neighborhood is going down).

Texas:

It takes time for members to develop the spiritual foundation and good techniques for witnessing. Arkansas has one new full-time member, a 19 year old young man from England. The State Leader's wife met him through his business. In Dallas there is one new member, a 22-year old who comes to the center everyday. Rev. You is going to research Austin. There is a big university there, and CARP in the past had good results. We have 7 second generation students there. They need active elder western members. The ACC leaders were great but left the region to go to hometown. The Japanese members (25 families in Dallas) are witnessing well. The Louisiana State Leader went to his hometown (Guam). The replacement is so-so quality. The Oklahoma center is empty, but members take care of it.

Atlanta:

Weekend witnessing programs in public libraries bring good results. The lecture is about the Blessing. Bayou la Batre members have established a CARP on a local campus. Joshua Cotter is working so hard all the members are working hard. In Mississippi we are focusing on minister's work, but no results yet. Rev. An is pushing members to give to Kodan.

Chicago:

This is a partial report from last week. On Thursday night they had 67 guests at the cultural night. The center members leaflet from 7 8 AM after Hoon Dok Hae and before breakfast, at subway stops. Even I brought one guest by going out for two mornings. Rev. Ki Hun Kim is preaching at Hycel Taylor's church this weekend. Also our members are attending two minister's banquets. And each weekend there is a DP workshop.

Los Angeles:

The Santa Monica video center is going okay, but western members are not inspired to go there. It's far to drive, but the real reasons are the internal impact of the negative media about the True Family, and the continual requests for money. They don't say it out loud, but they are depressed. Japanese sisters through Kodan are organizing childcare and two witness every day full-time. The tribes hold programs in their houses, with the strategy that each couple should bring one couple to Taiwan out of their 185. They don't need to do any other program, but just bring one couple each. They are making efforts to reach Chinese and Hispanic ethnic groups, but no results yet. Pasquale Santoro, the former SL of Arizona, moved into Southgate to work with the Hispanic people there. So Arizona is now taken care of by a committee.

Manhattan:

Here is the Manhattan Family Church plan for the next three weeks, to start small groups, support and raise up the committed members, and create a regular workshop program:

Set Up Small Groups

Tuesday, November 10: Set up small groups Voluntary; leaders must attend Sunday Service (must be active members) and attend the monthly (or bi-weekly) small group leaders meeting. Beyond that they determine their own activities. Educate members about groups

Formalize Membership And Staff Responsibilities Of MFC

Sunday, November 29: End Sunday service by 11 am. Guests and new members DP lecture in Calif room Invite all other members to 30 minute meeting in the Garden room

30 minute meeting: Introduce the distinction between Member and Staff Minister-benefits and responsibilities.

Member: attend Sunday Service, tithe, prayer and study, attend church celebrations and Father's speeches at Belvedere whenever possible. All other activities are optional but this is your commitment. Sunday school and small group participation are not mandatory but is encouraged.

Staff Minister: All the above, plus belong to a small group, have a personal ministry (including teaching DP), attend a Sunday school (including the members' meeting), church visitation, participation in providential activities as an expression of and in relationship with your personal ministry. All of this is part-time and volunteer.

Those who decide to be Member-sign the Membership covenant. Closing prayer and leave the meeting.

2nd 30 min meeting: Those who want to be Ministry Staff stay for another 30 minute meeting. Discuss small groups, personal ministries, education, etc. In particular explain the purpose of small groups (evangelical for inactive blessed couples and new guests, counseling, social).

Education Track (To begin Sunday, December 6)

Membership class

* This is for new, young or returning adults. * It covers the entire DP in 16 presentations over a one month period (four Sundays; if there is a fifth Sunday the lectures can be spread out to cover five Sundays). * Each Sunday there is the 11:30 12:30 lecture (Principle of Creation 1, Human Fall 1, Mission of the Messiah, Eschatology). * For those who are taking the class, there is lunch and then three more lectures (1:30 5:00). * To graduate the course, you must attend all 16 lectures (report card to keep track so that people can cover all the classes over several months if they desire)

Week one: Principle of Creation 1 & 2, Resurrection, Christology

Week two: Human Fall 1 & 2, Introduction to Restoration, Foundation for Restoration (the 3 families)

Week three: Mission of the Messiah, Moses and Jesus 1 & 2, Predestination and Parallels of History 1

Week four: Eschatology, Parallels of History 2, The Last 400 years, Second Coming

This class should be offered continually. If there are no participants in the class, at least we offer the 11:30-12:30 presentation each week for guests and new members.

At the conclusion of this class, the person becomes a Member, signing the covenant. There should be a welcoming ceremony in the next Sunday's service (the first Sunday of the month; this encourages guests at that service to start the course that Sunday).

Ministry Staff class

This is for Members to become part of the Ministry Staff of MFC. It follows the same monthly pattern as the Membership class. * Each Sunday there is the 11:30-12:30 lecture (Father's Course, 1920-1950, Jesus' Lineage, Introduction to the Unification movement, Introduction to MFC personal ministries and small groups). * For those who are taking the class, there is lunch and then three more lectures (1:30-5:00). * To graduate the course, you must attend all 16 lectures

Week one: Father's Course, 1920-1950, 1951-1970, 1971-1988, 1989-present

Week two: Jesus' Lineage, The Matching and Blessing, The Three-Day Ceremony, The Formula Course

Week three: Introduction to the Unification movement, Unification traditions, present providential activities

Week four: Introduction to MFC personal ministries and small groups, D.I.S.C. test, personal counseling and determination

At the conclusion of this class, the person becomes a Staff Minister, signing the Ministry Staff covenant. There should be a welcoming ceremony in the next Sunday's service (the first Sunday of the month; this encourages guests at that service to start the course that Sunday).

True Children's Day

The concept for the performance is to praise, affirm and uplift True Parents by showcasing the culture of heart that they have created. This is a culture that includes every race, nation, religion and culture. Also it transcends generations. Only True Parents, only the Messiah with God's true love, could create such a culture. This is a testimony of their messianic status. So let us all attend with this level of heart.

Weekly Report

Piotr Suharski is creating the new reporting system, following the European model, to gain per-capita rankings. It should be ready later this week.
