Korea Rally to Declare the Launching of the Realm of the Abel UN

The Korea Rally to Declare the Launching of the Realm of the Abel UN, hosted by the Universal Peace Federation and IIFWP in Korea and sponsored by the Ambassadors for Peace Association and UN Peace Forces of the Korean War Memorial Federation was held in the Millennium Hall on the 6th floor of Central City in Seoul. The program began at 10:30 am. coordinated by Dr. Sun Jo Hwang, president of UPF-Korea.

Before the start of the official program, Dr. Chang Shik Yang, president of FFWPU-Korea came up to give a report on the activities of the “Peace UN.” He gave a PowerPoint presentation on the Middle East Peace Initiative (MEPI) initiated by True Parents.

Dr. Yang showed photos of MEPI activities in Jerusalem and Palestine areas where leaders of different religious faiths and ambassadors for peace came together to hold peace marches and conferences for the purpose of promoting reconciliation between religions.

To the Korean participants, who had never been to this area or only knew of the tragedy afflicting this area through the news and media, this presentation shed light on the glimmer of hope that was brewing through these activities. Dr. Yang also introduced the peace-building activities promoted through sports such as holding football tournaments for youths living in the Middle East.

The next presenter was Mr. Dong Moon Joo, chairman of the Washington Times. He introduced Father Moon to the audience emphasizing that there was no other leader in this world that was consistently investing in peace activities in this world. He introduced Father Moon's new initiative in reconciling the two Americas through a peace movement focused on bringing North America and South America closer together in various fields including politics, religion, and economy.

Mr. Joo revealed how many political leaders throughout the American continent have responded positively to this and actively taking part in this new initiative. Mr. Joo briefly talked about the successful conferences that were held in Washington D.C. and in Texas. These conferences brought together more than 160 former and current leaders from thirty-six nations from April 28 to May 2, 2008. Mr. Joo also introduced the Global Peace Festival which is scheduled to be held from July 2nd to the 6th at Paraguay.

After these two presentations, there was a video presentation introducing Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon’s worldwide peace efforts and initiatives.
