Please continue to pray sincerely for True Parents and True Family. The accident that occurred last week was extremely serious. Many religious leaders expressed that only God’s intervention could have saved True Parent’s and all other grandchildren and passenger’s lives.
Many expressed tremendous relief that the True Parents will be able to continue their great mission for Peace and Family. We are profoundly grateful to God for such profound protection.
FFWPU will seek to strengthen STF and CARP. Our FFWPUI International President, Rev. Hyung Jin Moon placed CARP under the direction of the Continental Director and the FFWPU national President. Also, STF which was under World CARP will also be under the same direction. The national President of CARP and the Director of STF will report to the President of FFWPU centering on the Continental Director.
Personnel Changes: We want to sincerely congratulate Mr. Aoki for serving the youth and directing STF for many years. He has successfully completed his mission there and will develop a new mission in consultation with the FFWPU executive committee. The new STF national director will be Mr. Roland Platt. Also serving with distinction is Mrs. Christine Froelich, who was education director and special advisor for STF. Mrs. Froelich has been asked to work with Rev. Joshua Cotter to develop witnessing education in the San Francisco area.
Rev. Kazushi Mito has successfully completed his mission as President of CARP and a transition will occur in August. He will remain as Vice President of FFWPU and will focus on Education and the National Leadership Training Program.
Rev. Phillip Schanker and Rev. Mito will be special advisors to STF and CARP and will help those organizations including the Jr. STF and the Youth Department to harmonize and cooperate. They will work with the leadership to develop a new curriculum and experience for STF that will include training and preparation for developing CARP when STF graduates go to college.
FFWPU is a partner organization for GPF and we sincerely ask all families (all generations) on the east coast and as far west as the Mississippi to support the Global Peace Festival on August 9, 2008 at 5 PM in Washington D.C. by bringing three guests per family and having all family members attend. Renowned Gospel singer Ms. Yolanda Adams will perform along with cultural performing groups from America’s great ethnic heritage. Messages will be delivered by our nation’s top interfaith leaders as well as Co Chairman of the Universal Peace Federation, Dr. Hyun Jin Moon supporting the realization of “One Family Under God.” Blessed Central Families west of the Mississippi should focus on supporting the local “web cast” events.
Support for Youth to Attend GPF: All youth are encouraged to attend GPF. Financial support for gas expenses will be made available upon request to FFWPU National through the District Headquarters. Please create an “IM” messaging effort to let everyone know that all are welcome.
The Youth Committee who helped organize GPF is calling for a youth celebration on August 10 from 9 am 1 pm. (Details will follow).
