The Words of the Werner Family |
Dear Michael [Jenkins],
I just came back from the hospital. Paul is in very critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. He is connected to the BiPap Breathing Machine, forcing air into his lungs since yesterday afternoon. It causes great discomfort, to say the least, but he is enduring and we know, he is in God's hands. We can feel the support of all the prayers from brothers and sisters around the world. The e-mail response is overwhelming. We just want to thank each and everyone for so much love and care. It really brings tears to my eyes. Heaven is so near and we can feel the bright atmosphere around his bed. Our deepest gratitude goes out to our beloved True Parents who brought us all together as one family.
Every day new tests are being done and they detected new clots or fragments of them in his lungs who could cause a cardiac arrest at any time. He is being treated with strong blood thinners and he is very weak. Since he still has fluids in his lungs, he can only have a few sips of water (no food) as yet. So we take it day by day.
As to visits, his nurse told me, that clergy has unlimited access every day of the week from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm. I know you are extremely busy, but I just want to let you know. If you are able to come, you can call me on my cell phone and I would come down and take you to the critical care unit, since I'm by his side all day.
Thank you for your and Reiko's concern for our family. Love and warmest greetings to you both,
Christel
