UTS is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Paul Rajan, Anglican student of the Interfaith Program, as its Director of Interfaith Development. Mr. Rajan is a UPF "Ambassador for Peace," with years of service as a church builder and peace activist in his native India and adopted home New Zealand. He came to UTS on the interfaith scholarship in the Fall term, 2008. Paul has a wife and 18-month old son.
Mr. Rajan's first assignment is to establish a recruitment program in India, with future potential for China, Malaysia and other such countries. He will promote and manage a recruitment process into the interfaith program, and help the new recruits in their transition to seminary life. He has a steadfast resolve to find a good number of new students from a variety of religious backgrounds to join the Fall, 2009 class. These students will share the vision of "one family under God," of a world of peace among religions, races and nations that sustains the UTS interfaith education.
Further tasks for Mr. Rajan will be to partner with Chris Antal, Director of Interfaith Relations, to qualify UTS as a site for a "pre-Parliament" event connected with the 2009 Parliament of the World Religions to be held in Australia in December.
