Greetings from New York. Happy True God's Day Upcoming! I know that the demands of HQ, which we get from above us, cross a big gap to land on earth. But Rev. Pak needs to prepare reports to take to Father in Uruguay. Please help with the following:
1. Matching Applications. HSA-UWC International has just informed me of something that I apparently should have known months ago, we are supposed to send a weekly report on matching applicants to Korea! It has to go every Tuesday night.
According to the weekly reports, we have 245 candidates in North America. But they need to know how many men and how many women. Please advise me as to the gender of your candidates.
And I ask that you please send in matching applications as soon as they are filled out, with AIDS test, photos, etc. By the way, we are not sending any more application forms to you. Please make copies of what we sent to you.
We have in hand about 20 matching applications. Yesterday, Rev. Kwak left to meet Father in South America. He asked how many candidates we have in North America. We know that Father will call for a matching at anytime. So please immediately send in any applications that are complete.
2. Updated number of international blessed wives in the mobilization to their hometown (including both those who have gone are those who are still preparing to go).
3. The lengthy report about numbers of guests etc that I asked for on Christmas. Six or eight states have sent it in; fax or e-mail is fine.
4. Note concerning Offering Requests
On December 18 I conveyed to you the following:
"All blessed couples and members must complete, in total, the public offerings set by True Parents, by True Parents' Birthday, February 21, 1999. This direction is very important and we will send more information about its spiritual significance. The public offerings include your Blessing fee, the $30 for 4 years Indemnity Fund connected with the Blessing, Kodan, and others."
This was part of a memo that I had received from Rev. Kwak. In this memo, Rev. Kwak had actually provided a partial list of the donations to which Father was referring. I did not send that list, because I expected or hoped for clarification of the list, but none has appeared. So in the interests of time, and for your information, prayer and effort, I will give you their list, with my additions in parentheses:
a. Blessing donation from both spouses:
b. Indemnity Fund: Offered after matching/blessing for 4 years ($30 for 4 years)
c. Kingdom Fund: Started in 1995
d. Special Dedication Donation: Started in 1998 (helping the Korean church, relating to the number 12)
e. Ideal Family Fund: Started in 1998 (also called the "living offering" relating to the number 16)
f. Kodan Fund: Started in 1998 for all Blessed couples in USA (this is inaccurate; it started in 1992 for Japanese members and in 1995 or 6 for everyone else)
g. Jung Ju Peace Park Fund: Started in 1995
h. Blessed couple monthly offering (the Blessed Family Fund)
In the memo, Rev. Kwak also stated, "This direction is very important as it relates to every blessed couple's offering ceremony of total sacrificial living things." I waited also for clarification about this. All I have is my informal discussion with Rev. Pak and Rev. Peter Kim, from which I glean that "total sacrificial living things" means everything (all things) we own. "Living" relates to the Old Testament, where the people offered animals and grain, actual living things. I suppose it could also refer to our livelihood. The term "total" means that the offering is not divided. For me, that is the key point, and from here I offer my reflection.
Abraham's division of the offering relates to Adam being divided into Cain and Abel and the world being divided at the time of Noah. It symbolically separates the realm of good sovereignty out of the universe ruled by Satan and it sanctifies the offering by draining out the satanic blood. (EDP 211) Jesus, too, was divided at the crucifixion, with Satan claiming his body. As a result, Christianity suffers this division of mind and body, heaven and earth, church and state, faith and reason, etc.
We members, restoring Christianity, divided from our family and from our "Isaac" (school, career, talent) offer ourselves to God. This period of division concluded with the advent of Tribal Messiahship, going to one's hometown and uniting with one's family and pursuing one's God-given vocation.
Providentially we all should have succeeded in our hometown and have wealth (all things) a tribe of 160 families working together with us (people, children) and ourselves (parents). This in its entirety undivided belongs to God. It represents the entire world belonging to God. To ceremonially declare this and put it into effect, we have this "total sacrificial living things" offering.
God having complete dominion means that God has sovereignty over a nation. Because no nation has accepted True Parents, Father is creating this nation in the undeveloped area of South America. We should live in that nation as its citizens; this is represented by our attending the 40-day workshop at Jardim.
This is my reflection and I hope you can surpass me in discovering your responsibility before God and True Parents.
