Dr. Yang reported from Alaska that Father's main concern is reaching the Christian churches in America. The tremendous victory of the Fourth True Family Values Ministry Annual Awards Banquet shows that God is alive and kicking in the churches when we let Him use us to work with them. Father's original direction for the Japanese missionaries coming to America, in fact, included at the top of the list working with Christian churches. NOW is the time.
For this purpose, as you know we have established Bishop Ki Hoon Kim and Rev. Michael Jenkins as co-chairmen of the National Ecumenical Office (NEO). Since establishing their office they have been in close communication with leaders around the country who have strong foundations with Christian churches. This network will expand to every Region (see point 1 below).

Blessing 2000 Christian Campaign Strategy Outline
Goal: Inspire 1,300 churches to bring 2,600 couples (including the pastor's couple) to the World Summit for Families in Korea. Basic request: each church sponsor one young couple for the blessing. Total that would be mobilized: 5,200 people plus 520 Unificationist staff.
Target audience: Graduates of Hoon Dok Hae conferences, TFVM, ICC, True Mother's speaking tours, Blessing 97, 98 and 99 participants, etc.
Dates: Departure from America Feb 9 or 10, arrival in Korea Feb 11, departure from Korea Feb 14, arrival in America Feb 14.
Cost: $2,390 per couple (see brochure for details).
Package: Round trip airfare and 4 days and 3 nights in a Seoul hotel, attendance at Blessing 2000 and the World Summit for Families, one evening at the newly-dedicated Holy Sanctuary at Chung Pyung Lake, and one day sightseeing/shopping in Seoul. (see brochure for details)
Action Steps:
1. Each region should select one (or more) member to serve as the official manager for working with Christian churches. It can be anyone‹a State Leader, a Tribal Messiah‹but the person has to have the support of the Regional Director and has to have enough time to devote to the job. Send the name of this person or persons to the Chicago office (above).
2. Each region should select two to five blessed clergy to be on the National Interfaith Blessing Committee ("Family and Friends United for World Peace") and submit them to the National Interfaith Office by November 30. On the state and regional level we work through these Abel ministers to reach other ministers‹visiting together and brainstorming together. The goal would be for each such minister to bring nine other ministers, each of whom bring couples from their churches. These ministers will be the hosts and speakers at the promotional conferences, in particular the Hoon Dok Hae conferences. They would help organize meetings with the other ministers to hear presentations about the tour. We must try to find a way to provide them a stipend for their work (recommend $500 a month for two months plus expenses paid for Korea tour, which adds up to $3,500 per minister couple).
3. Create a name list of churches that have the potential to send one couple.
4. Approach Strategies:
a. Organize visitation of Japanese missionaries to these churches. Bring Japanese missionaries there for Bible Class, Sunday Service and various banquets. Form a True Family Values Choir composed of the Japanese missionaries. Many ministers and churches are being deeply touched by the missionaries. They can sing Amazing Grace in English and Japanese. Their sacrifice to come to America gives them a special condition that Christians can feel just through their presence and singing. In private meetings, they can ask the minister to share his testimony and teach them about Jesus and what it means to be a Christian.
b. Utilize the Hoon Dok Hae conference to inspire ministers. Have a local minister be the host and local ministers be the respondents or special speakers. The Japanese missionaries should sing Christian hymns and then do a folk dance. Invite the ministers to sign up to have the Japanese "True Family Values Choir" come to their church. Then present the exciting tour package and get them to commit to sending a couple to Korea. For more information on suggested format, please contact the NEED office.
c. Personal visitation by local leader with someone who has a close relationship with the minister.
5. On the foundation of personal visitation, visitation of Japanese missionaries and/or attendance at a Hoon Dok Hae conference, or through any other means, present the tour package based on the brochure.
6. THE BROCHURE: This week we will send you by e-mail the Brochure. It is full-color. Your job is to download it, make any changes you like (such as local names and photos of ministers, local addresses and phone numbers), and print as many or as few as you want at a Kinko's or such place.
7. Follow up with each minister, answering their questions, encouraging them, offering financial assistance, whatever it takes, to sign up couples, including already married young couples and the pastor's couple. Their church can start fundraising now for this. Our blessed couples in America can also help to sponsor the couples. 2,600 blessed families in America together with 1,300 churches can sponsor 2,600 couples.
