The Words of Sun Myung Moon from 2011 |

Mrs. McDevitt read Father's speech given on Sunday, Sept. 7, 1969. There were about 10 participants (it seems they were all Korean) and after the reading four of them sang songs in turn and True Parents listened to their songs (Father kept closing his eyes and sometimes held True Mother's right hand with his hands). Then Father said,
"Sing a song that will make us feel the heart of a vagabond who misses a flower-like girl in the spring garden." Then True Mother said, "It would be Young lady at the Soyang River." True Mother and all the participants sang the song while Father was listening with his eyes closed holding True Mother's right hand.
Then Rev. Yang sang a song and then Hyung Jin Nim (who, with his new hairstyle, looks like Hyun Jin Nim!) sang "If I can dream." Then Father asked True Mother to speak about Hyo Jin Nim.
"This son was born on Dec. 3, 1962 (on the lunar calendar). Those days, Father liked hunting so much. Do you remember the structure of the Cheong Pa Dong church? In the basement there was the kitchen and on the top of that there was an ondol (hot floor) room, and Father's room was on the second floor. That day I was resting in that ondol room after I delivered him. I head Father coming back. I was happy and so I tried to get closer to the door but suddenly I felt a strong chill and shivered with chattering teeth. (She held back her tears) Actually that had happened when I gave a birth to Ye Jin. That time, even I put on my blanket, it did not work.
This child was so unique. When he was given a bicycle, he played putting it upside down and rolled the tires. Once he drew a picture, for example, fish, he continued to draw only fish without drawing other objects. He had the character that once he was determined he could not help but running things out.
He was an affectionate child. Those days Father was always absent visiting local churches and I was with children, and though he was a boy, he was always concerned about his mother's heart. One day, after Hyo Jin visited Mr. Won Pil Kim's family who lived on the second floor, he fell and hurt himself on his lips, which became swollen. I had never seen such lips and was so worried and asked him, "Are you OK?" He said, "This is nothing. I do not feel any pain." He was such a boy not to try to worry his mother.
Later, he got hurt severely through traffic accidents, but he tried not to go to the hospital. He sit with his back straight with the wall for hours and set his body right."
The True Mother sang "Spring in my hometown" and Father and all other participants joined her singing. After the song, Father said, "I think he in the spirit world wants to always visit there."
Then True Parents sang together hand in hand with their eyes closed a Korean folk song that farmers sing when they do rice-planting.
