Note: These notes are taken from a Peace TV video clip. They cannot be published as definitive texts and should never be used in the future as an "official" publication of True Father's words. However, they do provide a good idea of the "spirit" of the message. -- Rev. Katsumi Kambashi
Mrs. McDevitt read Father's speech from his speech book # 34, titled "Good People," given Sept. 13, 1970.
"This speech (for the Cosmic Assembly for the Proclamation of the Settlement of the True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Humankind and the Substantial Word of God) contains all the paths True Parents have to go from the beginning to the end."
(Regarding Father' message to Dr. Devid Sang Chul Kim in which Father wrote to him: entering the garden "There are many Chinese characters for __ (and Father chose ___ for it). This can't be found even in the Garden of Eden. When one goes back to God and True Parents, this word can be used. This word hasn't been used before. This indicates the ground and ___ means heaven and the fundamental."
"The Bible says 'And there was evening and there was morning, one day.' There was evening and then morning came and therefore one might think that it should be the second day. Where did the night go? This statement is centering on the number 3. I am the person who pondered why it is the first day."
"Why did God call Adam after the fall even though God knew where he was? Adam would have said 'I am hiding myself with the leaves of the fig tree.' God would have asked 'What's wrong with you?' Then Adam would have said, 'You know what mistake I made and why do you ask me? You know where I was and why did you call me?' Why was God like that? God has been centering on goodness and truthfulness."
"Goryeo is Goguryeo*. In human history, there was only Gogureyo dynasty which governed the country for more than 1,000 years."
* Goguryeo was founded in 37 BC by Jumong, that eventually occupied southern Manchuria and northern Korea. Goguryeo was a major dynasty in North Asia, until it was defeated by a Silla-Tang alliance in 668 CE. After its defeat, its territory was divided among the Unified Silla, Balhae (was established by the people of Goguryeo and aimed to restore its territory) and Tang dynasty. Goguryeo changed its name into Goryeo during the reign of King Jangsu, and such name was succeeded later by the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392).
