Kook Jin Moon Speaks at San Francisco Bay Area Church

November 4, 2010

Mr. Kook Jin Moon, Chairman of Tongil Group, is currently on a speaking tour in the United States, together with other Unification Church leaders, to report to members about the progress in the reorganization of the church's economic foundation as well as the latest news about the fight for religious freedom in Japan.

Kook Jin (Justin) Moon told a packed crowd at the Bay Area Family Church, on Nov. 2, 2010, that the restructuring of Tongil Group since 2005 has been successful. According to Mr. Jin Nam Hwang, an executive with Tongil, conservative risk analysis and procedures requiring transparency at the industrial group has increased the asset base of Tongil from $1.3 billion in 2004 to $1.7 billion in 2009. Kook Jin Moon explained that the consolidation of churches in Korea allowed for renovations of 23 buildings there, making those facilities far more suitable for new guests, and the result has been substantial gains in membership and tithing.

Mr. Tim Elder, a member of the public affairs staff of Tongil, reported on the progress of efforts to raise public awareness of the scandal of abduction of Unificationists in Japan. Rev. Joshua Cotter also gave a theological interpretation of recent events that have taken place in the church.

Mr. Moon told the audience that in the current period all church members "are charged to make a stand" for True Parents and the projects aligned with their directions.

Mr. Moon and his team scheduled a similar presentation for the Unification Church member in Los Angeles on Nov 3, and in Chicago on Nov 4.
