The UK FFWPU (registered Charity # 267917) is seeking to recruit a team of volunteers for a CARP committee, for the academic year 2010-11 as a key component of the Unification Youth Ministry. Working within the Unification youth ministry, Director Patrick Hanna and Assistant-director Sung Jong Choi will lead the CARP committee. As a team you will coordinate pastoral care and education for the Unificationist youth of CARP age who have graduated high school, who are either studying, working, volunteering, or on a training program, aged between 18-25, living in the 9 spiritual communities of the UK Unification Movement.
It is a serious internal and external responsibility: making conditions for others with the goal of care and education, working as a team to achieve goals, working together with the HARP committee to support regional Youth Structures, to develop the Youth Ministry, and make a real contribution to the growth and development of our Unification Movement here in the UK. As a new team you will also be pioneering and creating a culture and structure for future years to benefit from and develop upon.
The purpose of the committee's work should be to:
Empower UK CARP members to discover and fulfill their unique calling to serve God, True Family, and others
Support the research, study and teaching of the Divine Principle for CARP members
Prepare those aged 18-25 for the marriage blessing and for a life of public service
Build a spiritually secure community where CARP aged members receive the care and education they need.
This should be achieved by:
Offering sincere devotion through attendance, purity and tithing.
Good communication and relationships with the national and European youth leadership, and also with local regional youth and pastoral leadership
Raising and investing into regional Youth leadership
Sharing relevant information to the specific target groups (e.g. workshop invitations, reports, news etc.)
Directing and coordinating CARP worship services
Meeting regularly to share, discuss, plan and take action.
Involving other CARP members as much as possible, encouraging and enabling them to take responsibility and initiative to creatively contribute to the Youth Ministry and regional and national efforts.
Developing outreach; reaching out to all existing CARP members and reaching out beyond to youth outside our movement, inviting them to join different activities of varying commitment.
Leading workshops, programs, and activities that deliver faith education and pastoral care.
Investing on your regional level by supporting your regional youth structure and activities.
Communicating and cooperating with parents of CARP members.
