The streets of Lewisham town center have been invaded by a group of infectiously happy young adults, keen to approach random strangers with the desire to share their identity and proclaim some good news about the return of Christ. Unassuming passers-by have been approached indiscriminately and their reactions have ranged between puzzled, defiant, curious and inspired. These phenomena can mean only one thing… STF has arrived!
Last Friday a team of STF members arrived in London to start sharing their faith. Led by Gary R from Hungary, the team consists of Keara W (USA), Emmi Y (Sweden), David F (South London), David vD (Australia) and Gabriel B (Austria). I am really impressed by their spirit. They're full of joy and laughter, but they are also very focused and serious about the mission ahead of them.
Already they've spent three days on the streets of Lewisham stopping strangers to introduce themselves and explain that the messiah is currently on the earth. Since all of them have little to no experience of witnessing, I encouraged them to adopt this direct approach in order to see how people react, and the experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Already one guest has returned to a blessed family's home to receive a lecture. (Actually, the legendary Farhad spoke for two and a half hours, summarizing the Principle of Creation, the Fall of Man and Restorational history with incredible brevity and reliability.)
The team is already experiencing challenges, but they are dealing with them in a very mature fashion. Most of all, I think they recognize the potential that exists in London, especially in Lewisham, to find many friends and help raise them with truth and love to become true sons and daughters of God.
