I believe that all of you are missing True Parents. True Parents are presently in Seoul Korea where Father is educating Japanese WFWP members. Father is educating many thousands of women all by himself. If we think about this, do we consider it an easy or a difficult challenge? (Big challenge) Father's spirit and Father's heart is in this room with us and so, let us join our hearts with him together.

On May 1, 1994, we received from True Parents the great gift of the Family Pledge. Let us think about the meaning and value of this Family Pledge and how we can fulfill it.

Every Sunday morning we need to speak out to heaven and earth and make our Family Pledge and fulfill this new covenant, the completed covenant, and receive the blessing from God and True Parents eternally.

What then is the meaning of covenant? We have many small covenants between man and man. Sometimes we have small covenants between father and small daughter. Daughter will ask, "Father will you come back home early today?" Father responds, "Yes" We have many small covenants such as this.

Even though we have many promises and small covenants in our lives, the covenant that I want to talk about is between God and mankind; between True Parents and mankind. This covenant and promise is for our eternal happiness and eternal life. If someone believes and trusts this covenant, and practices and fulfills this covenant, they will receive the grace and blessing of God. This covenant has the possibility of producing two different results; if we follow we will receive eternal blessing, but if we do not follow and fulfill this covenant then disappointment and judgment will come to us. However, the purpose of this covenant is not to give a burden or pressure to us. Rather God and True Parents give us this covenant for the sake of our eternal lives and eternal happiness so that we can become children of God.

May 1, 1994 Father and Mother celebrated the fortieth anniversary of the Unification Church. Father gathered the international leadership and at that time gave this great gift of the Family Pledge. Prior to receiving this Family Pledge we always made My Pledge, which represents the individual's pledge. We made this pledge but we could not fulfill it in actual fact. My Pledge was a covenant or promise between us and God. However, we could not fulfill this promise. Nobody in the Unification Church could fulfill this promise. Only True Parents have fulfilled this individual pledge. We are unable to go to another higher level of blessing because we failed to fulfill My Pledge. However, True Parents and God are love. During 1993 and 1994 our Unification Church members international, centered upon True Parents and True Family, with hard work and effort were able to bring an external victory last year with the declaration of True Parents and the Completed Testament Age. This year we are bringing internal victory and finally Father's forty year wilderness course has brought cosmic victory. Upon this foundation True Father gave us the Family Pledge.

Actually in reality it is impossible for us to have received it based on our own result. Prior to receiving this Family Pledge we stand, as a family, in front of God and True Parents and repent and make three bows and receive the Family Pledge and then freely use this new pledge. We have therefore received a new level in our spiritual life. Father began his forty year wilderness course in 1954, when he began the Holy Spirit Association for World Christianity. This forty years is symbolic of the 4,000 years prior to Jesus, which were under Satan's dominion. Therefore the forty years wilderness course is not a good image; really it is a very terrible image of opposition to God. Between God and Satan during this time there were serious battles. God sent True Parents to the earth and God had well prepared the foundation for their coming. However, Korea's Christian leadership became selfish and failed to unite with the dispensation of God. If they followed in 1945 then in seven years True Father's work would have received world wide approval. It would have been the beginning of the establishment of God's Kingdom on Earth. However, due to the opposition of the Korean Christian leadership, the worldwide Christian foundation could not connect with True Father and he had to begin the wilderness course just as Moses.

The forty years is equated with 4,000 years prior to Jesus. Father has said that after the Fall of Man, God's heart was completely broken and the beginning of the dispensational history of restoration was very difficult. We have to understand how difficult it was for Heavenly Father to overcome this difficulty. This forty years is such a serious thing. Even though God called Father and had him realize his mission as the savior for humankind, Heavenly Father could not help Father in this mission so much, rather he had to let him pay indemnity in order to win over Satan.

Even nuclear power cannot destroy Satan's foundation because Satan is a spiritual being. Father always paid indemnity through sacrificial love. Satan has a ruthless heart and personality without True Love. Therefore Satan is unable to give love, mercy and sacrificial love because he is totally self-centered. Therefore True Father has practiced a completely opposite way of being by following the way of Principle and giving sacrificial True Love.

Father went to the spiritual world in researching the truth through Jesus, Mohammed, Confucius, Buddha and historical saints and inherited much from them. After this he began his forty years wilderness course. Father began this course in North Korea where he met one old spiritual woman who claimed to be the wife of God. Father as a humble young man came to her and served her as servant of servants. He washed her clothes and served her completely, denying himself and faithfully practicing True Love. Until finally she declared him to be the son of God. Then she completely obeyed to him and declared Father to be the Messiah.

Today we are unaware of Father's deep background, the details of which we don't know. Father paved the way through paying indemnity in order to begin the dispensation. In 1954 the Korean war had just finished and people there were without food and clothing. Korea was like a beggar nation at that time. At that time Father came down from North Korea to Pusan where he built a small shack of a house from which he began the Holy Spirit Association for World Christianity. At that time five members joined with Father, one of them was the late President Eu, also our elder Dr. David Kim. In 1954 it was extremely difficult for Koreans to generally understand Father's enormous vision for the unification of world Christianity. However, these five members believed Father.

Today we see the world wide foundation of our Church and we can see Father's incredible victory. Why did Father use the words Holy Spirit? The true meaning of the world spirit in this case is the power of True Love, true life and true lineage; this is the meaning of spirit. The Unification Church has a fearful weapon against Satan and that is True Love, eternal life and pure lineage that we received from God through the True Parents. This is our really formidable weapon. Even these five founding members who were with Father found it difficult to believe. During this forty years Father really paid Old Testament indemnity, which symbolizes Korea, and New Testament indemnity, which symbolizes America. America symbolizes worldwide Christianity and Father had to come here no matter what. Father has been dedicating and sacrificing in order to win America. Father brought manpower from Europe and Asia in order to work in this country. True Parents and True Family have paid tremendous indemnity here in America because the New Testament history and indemnity has to be fulfilled.

Based upon this foundation, in 1993 True Parents declared True Parents and the Completed Testament Age. This year Father gave the great gift of the Family Pledge to us. The Completed Testament Age worldwide began in America, and brothers and sisters here invested their time effort and our finances in order to bring victory. In total we completed eighty-seven speeches here in America, even on Capitol Hill. In each state the governors and mayors offered their welcome to True Parents. The state of Ohio gave Father and Mother seventy proclamations, and seventy second-generation members came up on the stage in Columbus, Ohio, and showed these proclamations. They announced the Day of True Parents. This means that conditionally America gave welcome to True Parents, whereas 2,000 years ago Jesus was rejected by the chosen people and had to die.

With this foundation True Parents went proudly through the forty nations such as Russia, Japan, Taiwan, South America and Africa. Throughout the world forty years True Parents and the Completed Testament Age was announced. This year True Mother spoke at the major universities throughout the United States. From my point of view, the most significant victories were Harvard and Princeton. Who established Harvard and Princeton? The early Christian pioneers. Harvard and Princeton were the first to establish Divinity Schools for educating Christian ministers. Also these two Divinity Schools have produced many graduates who have volunteered as missionaries throughout the world and spread the Christian gospel. The first President of Korea, Dr. Rhee, obtained his doctorate from Princeton University. Several Korean early Christian ministers graduated from Princeton University but these people during 1945 - 1954 rejected Father and had him imprisoned in South Korea. In fact we can say that these enemies of God came out of Princeton University Divinity School.

Politicians don't care about religious doctrine. However, True Mother was welcomed to both Capitol Hill and to the United Nations but fundamentally the most difficult to overcome is the power of Christianity. This year Harvard, Yale and Princeton welcomed True Parents and received the declaration of True Parents and the Completed Testament Age. This was the most difficult victory and we brought it. This means both internally and externally True Parents have been welcomed as True Parents.

As one of the humble Church leaders I have asked the question why other countries only had one rally to accomplish, and yet last year America did eighty-seven rallies? Now this year, America alone had the task of one hundred universities during one month. Why America? Because America is the representative of the New Testament. Through America last year Father and Mother brought the world wide victory and after this Father and Mother gave us the Family Pledge.

In the biblical history we see that we have the Old Testament Age, New Testament Age and Completed Testament Age. Formation, growth and perfection. The Old Testament Exodus, Moses received the ten commandments through paying indemnity. Who did he have to give these ten commandments to? The chosen people of Israel. The chosen people had to obey God and the commandments. This covenant is the Old Testament level. In Matthew 26:21-28 Jesus wanted the chosen people to work with him but they instead rejected him. Therefore he had to work spiritually and then finally he made a covenant between himself and the church or disciples by giving his life. Through the bread and wine which were symbolic of his body and blood, he created a new covenant. Through faith in God and Jesus the people could enter into this covenant. Not by obedience, which is like a servant level, but rather by faith which is the level of adopted children.

Today we are in the Completed Testament Age and we have received the Family Pledge. This is a covenant between God and True Parents on the earth. True Father and True Mother have fulfilled True Parentship and True Familyship and they have given us the gift of the Family Pledge.

At the time of Jesus he only had a spiritual world wide foundation, his dream is world wide but physically he did not have this. However, True Parents today do have this physical and spiritual world wide foundation. True Parents are giving us True Love, eternal life, and pure lineage. This is a truly wonderful gift. Love, life and lineage are a trinity; love is the motivating factor, life is movement and through these two new life comes into being with a pure lineage.

Life is fundamental energy and vitality for love. Love can only be seen when someone practices love. Today people claim that they have life, however they use this life energy for the sake of Satan. This energy is used also for immoral love. The root of this energy originates with God and should be used for the sake of God and goodness.

Without life we cannot practice love, without the emotion of love then there is no lineage. Without life energy then love cannot exist so these three; life, love and lineage are a trinity. However, due to the Fall of Man this trinity was lost to mankind. From this trinity God mobilized and created the entire cosmos. Through the blessing ceremony and True Parents whole life effort this trinity of life, love and lineage is brought back to God. The Family Pledge means that these three elements are brought by True Parents.

This great cosmic gift must be conveyed to others, not just kept for ourselves. In the Old Testament Age, the chosen people didn't want to share their blessing with anyone else. God promised Noah and Abraham that He would give them blessing for their descendants, but that these descendants become the root of blessing for the world; not only Israel. Today Christians have received the blessing of Jesus but on the other hand they do not practice love for the sake of the world. Therefore the Unification Church has always been urged by True Father to live for and practice love for the sake of the world and for mankind. This is the Family Pledge.

What now is our attitude? Should it be faith and obedience? Obedience may have the sense of fear that if we don't obey we will be killed. Faith entails belief or non-belief. These are not good enough in this age. Our attitude should be that of attendance. This is the cosmic level. If you look at the chart, you will understand that the Family Pledge is the covenant of the Completed Testament Age. If we follow this new heavenly code we will reach to God, this is guaranteed.

I would like you all to read this Family Pledge. You will not see any mention of Satan because we are already beyond Satan. The Fall of Man came at the top of the growth stage and we are now in the Completed Testament Age so Satan cannot connect with us. Therefore, Satan is not mentioned in the New Family Pledge. Let us study together. Pledge number one: We families centered on True Love, pledge to restore our home towns and establish the original ideal of creation, which is the Kingdom of God on Earth and in Heaven.

All throughout the New Family Pledge we repeat over and over again, "We families centered upon True Love." What does "centered on True Love" mean? True Love is always connected with new life, eternal life and pure blood lineage. Father's teaching of True Love always is inclusive of this trinity of life, love and lineage. To be a Blessed family means that you own love, life and lineage. To restore our hometown means our physical hometown, plus the original hometown of the Garden of Eden; Kingdom of Heaven on Earth.

Number two: We families, centered on True Love, pledge to attend God and True Parents, become central families representing the cosmos and to fulfill the way of heaven by becoming individuals of filial piety for the family, patriots for the nation, saints for the world and holy sons and daughters of heaven and earth.

Therefore, our families, centered upon True Love, will practice the eight stages of True Father's victory. Father went eight stages of a most difficult life. He always overcame at each level; even to the cosmic level he brought victory. Therefore we follow this tradition and then we bring victory. If we fulfill the eight stages of this blessing then we all will become saints, and go beyond the level of saints to the position of children of God.

Number three: We families, centered on True Love, pledge to establish the four great realms of heart, the three great kingships and the realm of the holy family. This content I believe you understand very well so I will not repeat again.

Number four: We families, centered on True Love, pledge to form one great family on the cosmic level, God's original ideal of creation and to establish the world of peace, freedom and happiness. This number four is pledging to create the world family. The most important element here is happiness. Joy and happiness come from love, and then peace comes.

On the world level we see so much struggle coming out of the fallen lineage. Peace, freedom and joy and happiness are the cornerstones for the Kingdom of Heaven on earth and in Heaven. The atmosphere of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth and in heaven consist of these elements. Therefore these elements are the cornerstones of the Kingdom of Heaven and the atmosphere for our Unification Church. With this beautiful atmosphere we can live forever. Based upon the extension of true life, love and lineage becomes the cornerstone of the God's Kingdom. Therefore Father said we will become peacemakers. Under the true peace we will find freedom and we also need to have a joyful and happy atmosphere.

This atmosphere should be in your family, these three elements of peace, freedom, joy and happiness must be within your family. If not, then the Kingdom of Heaven on earth will become impossible. First and foremost this atmosphere must blossom within your families. No more fighting between husband and wife and brothers and sisters. The meaning of the Family Pledge number four means this blossoming within your families at which time the Kingdom of Heaven on earth will automatically come about.

Number five: We families, centered upon True Love, pledge to strive forward every day in order to unify the subject spirit world and the object physical world. Please be careful concerning the spiritual world because some brothers and sisters have become confused. The spiritual world is so complicated and if you connect to the wrong people you may go astray. True Parents are not in the spiritual world but on the earth and they guide us day and night. Who can give them better advice than True Parents on the earth today? Officially, several people already are not members of the Unification Church anymore. Of course we will open the gate of forgiveness to them, but you must not follow them. Be careful. I was in Korea and Japan and I know in America that many misguided spiritual mediators have come into the church and made confusion. I have seen much damage brought to the church through this. Please be careful.

Some day our True Parents will go to the spiritual world. You received Father's direct advice, education, blessing and care. When True Parents go to the spiritual world they will prepare for us an amazing foundation. Our eternal life is so secure because of True Parents are always with us. If we don't reject them then they will not reject us.

Our goal is eternal spiritual life and in today's America, young people are very open and concerned about the spiritual world. At the campus and in the street please teach about the spiritual world. If people really understand the spiritual world and eternal life then they will join us.

Number six: We families, centered on True Love, and representing God and True Parents, pledge to establish families that will mobilize heavenly destiny in order to transmit Heaven's blessing to others.

This is like a very important conclusion. God and True Parents are expecting us to become new ancestors, a new Abraham, a new Jesus Christ, new True Parents. This means that as tribal messiahs we become new ancestor for our tribe just as Abraham was. We have to become true ancestors, true Abraham. Unificationists need to convey the blessing to our family, neighbors and tribe, otherwise God will take back His blessing from us. We need to be careful about this. Once we have received the blessing from God and True Parents it is our important duty and mission to convey this blessing to others.

Father has decided that on August 25, 1995 that True Parents will give blessing in Seoul, Korea. Until the year 2,000 these seven years are years of tribulation. Tribulation has two meanings: some well prepared people will receive the blessing, but some disobedient people will receive curses. This is the meaning of the tribulation. In 1995 August 25, in the middle of this seven years, Father and Mother will give the blessing. The New Jerusalem has how many gates? (twelve) That means entering into the new Jerusalem, the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, we may choose a gate. Not only twelve gates, but 120 gates, 1200 gates, 200,000 gates and on and on. Everybody will become a pearl gate not only twelve gates, but millions of gates need to open and welcome in mankind to receive love, life and true lineage from God and True Parents.

Number seven: We families, centered on True Love, pledge to establish the world of shimjung culture by maintaining our connection to the original blood lineage. The new culture is love, life and lineage. This love, life and lineage we will convey to our neighborhood, tribes, nation and world plus vertically generation to generation forever and ever.

My conclusion is that this Family Pledge is a covenant between God and True Parents on the earth. We are now living in the Family Pledge age. No more bad memories, for we have been completely liberated. Only eternal life and eternal world are waiting for us. Therefore we cannot complain, because our small sacrifice has enabled us to inherit this great blessing from God and True Parents. From now on each church and CARP leader should unite together. In America we have 3000 colleges and universities. If we work hard then the great gift we have received will not be a burden but will allow us to feel free. Hard work is not bad, rather it is a blessing. If we are not working and moving then life becomes dead and stagnant.

From today on, every Sunday, every holy day, the first day of every month as a family please recite the Family Pledge. Please remember that at the time of Moses at Mount Sinai they sacrificed animals. At the time of Jesus prior to his death, he gave them the covenant of the New Testament Age. After this he had to give his life. But in the Completed Testament Age we have the covenant that brings peace, joy and happiness. We are able to pledge without any satanic burden, completely liberated. How fortunate we are.
