This morning I would like to speak to you on the topic, Let us teach the Divine Principle and True Family values. We have a beautiful newly published Divine Principle book. This translation is very clear as many scholars worked together on it. American culture is different to Korean culture. Through this new publication, Westerners can more easily understand. This translation has been checked sentence by sentence by a scholar of English literature. We have our beautiful scripture available. This is a very important victory for 1996. I believe you all have already this new publication in your homes. Everyone needs to have this. Very good quality paper has been used for this book and it is bible bound so it is very strong and will last a lifetime.

Based on True Father's direction we made one edition color coded. Already we have made four printings of this book. This particular book is a little bit expensive but it can be used your whole life and your children can inherit this book from you. Especially this book was published during 1996. The first printed version you have in your possession now. In five hundred years time this book will surely have great value.

When True Father was sixteen years old, Jesus appeared to Father and announced to him that Father stood in the position of the Lord of the Second Advent. Since Father received this mission Jesus did not give Father the Divine Principle. Rather through much prayer, sweat and tears did Father discover the Divine Principle. Father received revelation from God by himself. True Father taught the Divine Principle little by little. He never taught this revelation to his physical family. Rather he taught to his own disciples first. After Father came down to South Korea, from May 1951 - May 1952 he wrote the entire Divine Principle in Pusan. Father completed this book in the small shack he erected there with a few disciples.

At that time Father did not have any nice furniture and writing desk, no library or dictionary in order to write the original Divine Principle book. At that time in Pusan there was even no electricity because of the Korean War. Father used a small latern which burned oil and a small humble desk and he wrote the Divine Principle. Reverend Won Pil Kim helped True Father to write the Divine Principle book at that time. Father would wake up suddenly in the night when he received revelation and would awaken Won Pil Kim. At that time Won Pil Kim was a very young man, about twenty years of age. He would work in the restaurant in the day and he would return at night to the small shack that he shared with Father. Then Father would sometimes suddenly awaken him in the middle of the night and dictate and Reverend Won Pil Kim would write down what Father would say. That is the original Divine Principle book history.

However, the original Divine Principle book is very poetic like a revelation. For example, if you read John's Book of Revelation can you easily understand its meaning? (No) No. It is not easy. Father received the Divine Principle by revelation. In order to understand the original Divine Principle meaning is not so easy. After President Eu joined the church he used the human language, our Korean language, and well organized the Divine Principle in 1957. It was entitled, Explanation of Divine Principle. In 1963-64, President Eu wrote again another version. At this time we have the english translated version. We are so fortunate to receive this wonderful new Divine Principle book in this year of 1996. This first printed version is your family, your tribe's treasure. Please make sure that you all buy this book.

In the bible, John 8:31-32, "If you understand the truth, this truth will set you free." It means it will free you from the ignorance of life and human history. Therefore, if you understand the truth of Divine Principle first all we can be liberated from Satan and return to God. Then we can understand who is God, what is the purpose of creation, what is the meaning of life, meaning of history and the goal of our life and history. If we understand then we can practise. However, without understanding we cannot practise.

If you wrestle with an elephant who will win? The elephant for sure. If you decide to race a cheetah, which one will win? Obviously the cheetah will. But elephant and cheetah cannot build the Empire State building because they don't have truth. They are unable to develop a blueprint and develop the idea of a building. They don't know how to prepare a budget and organize manpower. Only humankind has this ability because we have the truth. Through the truth we can truly separate from Satan and return to God and truly gain the divine character. A holy true personality, true heart from God and develop into perfected holy sons and daughters. Then we can become the cornerstone of God's ideal How can we become like this without understanding God's blueprint and purpose of creation?

This Divine Principle is the greatest gift to us from God through the True Parents. Before True Father came to earth, we only had the understanding of the bible. The New Testament only came into being based upon the Old Testament. Prior to the Old Testament there was nothing. Only God and very unique patriachs were able to communicate a little bit in order to receive some direction. These patriachs faithfully followed God's directives to them. The Old Testament is symbolic of elementary school, the New Testament is symbolic of junior and senior high school level and the Completed Testament is symbolic of university and doctorate level. As much as we are able to understand, so can we practise.

We are so fortunate to live in the time of the Completed Testament. We have so much material on the Divine Principle available to us. Dr. Hendricks' team has developed computer graphics of Divine Principle lecture. We can study the Divine Principle by computer now. Later on we can add narration and people can receive the Divine Principle lecture through their computers. We live in such an age now.

Did you see the movie, Independence Day? Maybe you were all too busy to see. Dr. Hendricks and I went to see this movie in Washington, DC after the ministers workshop. This movie was made through use of the computer. I saw only half because I was so tired that I fell asleep. (Laughter) Finally I had to ask Dr. Hendricks for the conclusion.

The Divine Principle is able to teach us the meaning of our lives. It really opens our blind eyes, bringing us from misunderstanding to clarity of understanding and from darkness into the light. The Divine Principle book is our guiding light in life. Do you follow? (Yes) Even if you study the classics and all kinds of theology still is does not clearly explain the meaning of the human life. They cannot explain what is the purpose of creation, the Fall of Man, the historical perspective is all so unclear. But through the Divine Principle everything is very clear. If you read the Divine Principle to someone, already this is a lecture, this is teaching them.

The Jehovah Witness members came to my home and wanted to witness to me. Therefore I allowed them to witness to me. They brought their lecture book and they shared their beliefs with me. They were not shy even though they were not perfect lecturers. But they tried very hard to explain. However, the Divine Principle book is very good teaching material and makes a very good lecture. Do you follow? (Yes) We need to take action in this regard.

Under Father's inspiration the new Divine Principle book has been color coded in four different colors. Red, blue, yellow and white. The most important part is coded in red. The blue coding explains more fully the red coding. The yellow coding explains more fully the blue coding. The white coding explains more fully the yellow coding. This means that the blue, yellow and white coding all more fully explain the red coding. Therefore, if you find someone who tells you they have only thirty minutes for you to explain the Divine Principle theory to them, you simply read the red part to them. By reading only the red part you will be able to teach the Principle of Creation in approximately twenty minutes. Do you follow? If someone has one hour you can add the blue and yellow parts. If someone has longer you can read everything to them.

Within the red part you can make the key words. Sometimes it is not easy to make the key words. Maybe the key words Reverend Pak has selected is best. You actually need this key word system. The breakfast meeting is held every Tuesday at the Headquarters and I will give these key words to our New York leadership. You ask your leader for these key words and copy from them. Everyone can become Divine Principle teachers and lecturers. We need liberation from certain mind set that tells us: a) Divine Principle is a very complicated theory; b) my brain is not smart enough to remember and explain the Divine Principle; c) my mission keeps me so busy that I have no time to study the Divine Principle. These are the excuses everyone gives. You all expect that Dr. Hendricks will give the lecture, but he is only one person in this America. There are fifty states and many counties and cities. Therefore, we need many people who are able to explain the Divine Principle. Therefore Father has given this color coding to help us to give Divine Principle lecture.

True family values means teaching the meaning of the Family Pledge. We imagine that only Family Pledge is something only for Unificationists and blessed couples. Father desires that we teach to the all of the world's religious people the meaning of Family Pledge. Father has told us that the Family Pledge is the key to enter the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. It is the blueprint of the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. The new heavenly constitution is the Family Pledge. Now we are teaching true family values and the Family Pledge to ministers in Washington, DC and they all truly appreciate this teaching. Already over 1200 ministers and religious leadership have completed this workshop in Washington, DC. Our goal is 3600 ministers. After this, 20,000 ministers in North America should receive the Divine Principle and true family values workshop.

In order for ministers to understand true family values they have to study the Divine Principle first. It is necessary to understand the purpose of creation, the fall, the history of recreation, the purpose of the messiah and the purpose of the second coming. That key point is true family values. Actually the purpose of creation is God's true family. The Fall of Man means the true family blueprint of God's ideal failed to be realized.

The purpose of the messiah's coming is to restore the original ideal true family. The history of restoration has been God's effort to end the suffering of his children and restore true family to the earth. The Second Coming means the establishment of True Parents on the earth. We fallen people need rebirth. In order to be reborn we need to cut our relationship with our satanic blood lineage and become engrafted to the True Parents and receive God's holy blood lineage. Amen. (Amen) Actually the Divine Principle book is the true family values book. The meaning of true family values means that we explain more fully about the four position foundation, three objectives of love, four realms of heart, the three great kingships and the royal family. Then finally Dr. Hendricks gives a lecture on the meaning of the marriage blessing. This details the process of the blessing ceremony, the forty day separation, and the three day ceremony.

We were in fact afraid that ministers might be upset by our teaching on the three day ceremony. But actually they took it very seriously. Christianity teach that merely by being baptized with water you are born again. However, children born to Christians also need to be born again. This means that being born again through Christianity does not really work. Otherwise why should their children need to be baptized generation after generation? The Christian ministers realized this. Therefore they were inspired by the lectures on the three day ceremony. They come to realize that the True Parents are able to impart to mankind a new heavenly blood lineage. Ten years ago the majority of these ministers would have left from the lecture hall if we had taught such a contents. But now over forty per cent of the ministers welcome receiving Reverend and Mrs. Moon's blessing next year.

Why do we especially need to teach true family values at this time particularly? Because God prepared this American community to be able to receive the true family values. In 1994 True Father gave us the Family Pledge. Quite soon after Father gave us the new Family Pledge, many people in society became very interested in family values. On August 8 of this year, the USA Today newspaper ran a three page article on the topic of family values. I quote, "Family values are shaping up as a hot issue in the presidential campaign." The hot issue of the 1992 campaign was the economy. But this year the issue is family values. Because people realize that the moral standard of America is in a critical situation. In a gallop poll ninety-nine percent of the people felt that the moral standard of America was in a dangerous situation.

In 1950 the percentage of children born to single mothers was only four percent. But in 1994 the percentage reached thirty two percent. This is reported in USA Today. In 1950 children growing up within a single parent home was twenty seven percent. But in 1994 this reached to thirty percent. America is reaching a crisis because it lacks true family value. They now begin to talk about the need of family values. Bob Dole pledges to restore strong family values in America if he is elected. Bill Clinton is also claiming to do the same. The Republicans are complaining that the Democrats have stolen their idea. They talk about family values, but none of them truly know what they are talking about. Only we have the answer of true family values.

Many ministers are hungry to learn about family values. Last week one minister came from Virginia. He said when he received our invitationto attend the seminar, it was true family values that struck him. It signified that other family values don't mean anything. There are many very famous family values book published in America now but they are all false family values. True family values is only one. After the lectures he came to Dr. Hendricks and told him that he had discovered true family values. He was so excited and said he had to share this with Dr. Jerry Falwell because he felt that the Southern Baptist Church needs to hear this teaching.

The newly published Divine Principle book explains about the family, but it doesn't go into detailed explanation of family life. But Father has taught us through the Family Pledge. This true family value brings the result because we can show the fruits. At the end of the workshop, blessed couples, second generation come before the ministers and give some testimony. Then the first and second generation read the Family Pledge together. Then the husband and wife bow to one another and the children bow to the parents and kiss them. Then they testify to the life of a blessed family. Everyone was inspired.

The crisis in America came about because of the Christian church, which in turn came through ministers families. Because ministers families were not true models of families. Ministers become divorced, they are involved in the Gay Movement. Therefore these ministers realized they truly need true family value. We Unificationists have been living within our own communities and so often we don't realize the reality of this world. God and True Parents have really protected you. From now on when you make the Family Pledge do so seriously with tears, in deep appreciation of God and True Parents. It is very important.

Reverend Pak and you received the Family Pledge together on May 1, 1994. But my mission is first to understand the true meaning of the Family Pledge and then I have to teach to American brothers and sisters and to my own family. Therefore I began to study. Little by little I have been explaining the meaning of the Family Pledge to you all. From this I published one 250 page book. Probably within the next month you will be able to see this book. It is entitled, True Family Values. There is careful explanations contained within this book. It contains many quotes from various religions so it can be used to teach various denominations. We are now teaching this content to the ministers. Because this is an extension of the Divine Principle.

Christian ministers are now coming and feel inspired and desire to follow the True Parents. However, Unificationists don't know the Divine Principle and True Family Values. This is a miserable situation. From now on we need to study hard the Divine Principle and true family values. Can you promise? (Yes) If a minister asks you the meaning of some aspect of the Divine Principle you need to be able to explain to them.

Last Sunday True Father spoke to us here at Belvedere. He told us that this book was published and then he asked if we had been studying. He told us that we needed to teach others otherwise the creation will teach in your place. When I heard Father say this my heart ached. As Unificationists we are very remiss in our study of the Divine Principle and family values. Even animals, birds and plants will cry out this truth in our place. How shameful.

Father was in Danbury as you know. At that time Reverend Kamiyama was Father's room mate and security for Father. Reverend Kamiyama left earlier than Father which meant Father had no security. The spiritual world inspired a non-Unificationist there in the prison to act as security for Father. Mr. Kamiyama testified at that time, that a family of skunk came into Father's room and made a small nest and were living there. Why? Because they wanted to protect True Father. If enemy came they would make such a big smell that the enemy would escape. Even animals try to protect True Parents.

After Jesus fasted for forty days who served him? Angels and animals did. Jesus was so tired and hungry, but the angelic world came and ministered to him. Even Elijah had food brought to him by black crows after he had fasted. If we don't study the Divine Principle and lecture for others, even animals, birds and plants will teach in our place. Father spoke these words from this stage last week. Therefore I am reminding you of this fact. Do you follow? (Yes) Everyone please quickly buy this Divine Principle book and become good lecturers.

Before his ascension Jesus gave a great mission to his disciples. He sent them out to the world admonishing them to do for mankind what he had done for them. St. Peter, St. Paul, St. Matthew, St. John, St. Luke and all of the early Christian forefather pioneers, taught God's word for the rest of their lives. At that time they didn't have a bible. In 1961 we had the explanation of the Divine Principle lecture notes. Not printed. We had no video or cassette tapes. We had very little. Now we are blessed with so much witnessing materials. Over 1200 ministers have studied Divine Principle and true family values now. They welcome us to come and teach this content in their churches. Almost four hundred ministers have requested us to lecture in their churches on Divine Principle and true family values.

Dr. Hendricks cannot possibly go to four hundred churches. It takes much too long. We now seriously are in need of Divine Principle and True Family Values lecturers. Soon there will be 2,000 churches and more. Now our goal is that we all become Divine Principle and True Family Values lecturers. Next year, November 1997, we will have a 3.6 million couples blessing. Our goal here in America is 360,000 couples. This is a big number and so we all feel overwhelmed. The way to accomplish this is to follow five stages.

1. Teach to religious community leadership the Divine Principle and True Family Values. This is the first stage. Already we have taught 1200 ministers. Therefore we can teach 20,000 ministers without any problem.

2. All Unificationists become Divine Principle and True Family Values lecturers. Dr. Hendricks is presently conducting the first stage. I am now starting this second stage.

3. The entire American Unification Church members go to the Christian and other religious churches to teach Divine Principle and True Family Values. We teach whole congregations. We can teach anyone, not only religious people.

4. We give pre-blessing. From this time Father allowed the wine ceremony and blessing to be conducted by local church leaders, Christian minister, Buddhist minister and Muslim minister together conduct the wine ceremony.

5. In November 1997 the main blessing ceremony will be given in Washington, DC by True Parents.

Please invite any ministers to attend these seminars. Then all of you go to their churches to teach Divine Principle and True Family Values. Then we bring to pre-blessing and then to the main blessing. This is our strategy.

If any of you have your Divine Principle book with you please open at the introduction. We have a red coded part in certain places as you will see. President Eu taught the Divine Principle using key points. The number one key point is the explanation of human life. But this human life had some trouble. Why? Because of the Fall of Man which brought about the disunity between the mind and body of individuals. This is the coded red part. Secondly, because our mind and body struggle and we are in ignorance, and so humanity developed both religion and science. Religion is spiritual and science is physical. Thirdly, traditionally the existence of religion and science hasn't worked to bring the solution to mankind. Fourthly, we need a new truth, new true family values. Fifthly, there has to be person who will discover this new truth and bring it to us. This person is Reverend Sun Myung Moon.

This new truth can be applied to our human life of struggle. All historical human problems can be solved by this truth. This is the meaning of the introduction to Divine Principle. Already Reverend Pak has explained the essence of Divine Principle introduction. Therefore you can lecture immediately with this understanding. Then you can go on to explain what is the trouble that humankind has inherited. Then how religion and science have developed. In human life we need new truth. What is the function of the new truth? This is explained here. Finally, who is Reverend Sun Myung Moon. If you understand this red coded part then you completely understand. Without this guidance you feel overwhelmed by page after page of information. Therefore it is essential to remember just the key points as well as the sub key points. Then gradually you can add more information.

Once this structure is clear in your mind you will feel very confident in your understanding and be able to explain clearly to other people. This is the purpose of the color coded Divine Principle book's function. Amen. (Amen) Now you realize why the color coding is there. The blue coded part explains about human desire. We have two kinds of desire: original human desire, and fallen human desire. These two came into being due to the Fall of Man. We can explain that the fundamental difficulty humanity faces is because of the Fall of Man. Religion and science were created to solve this problem. However, they have not been successful as humanity faces so much disharmony from the individual to the worldwide level.

When True Parents are not here, from now on we all need to bring this Divine Principle book to Belvedere. This Belvedere service we will practise how to lecture the Divine Principle. Please bring your Divine Principle book with you together with a ruler and red and blue pen. At the breakfast meeting each week I have taught the American leadership. Therefore, when I am not here you leaders must teach this content. Next week I have to go to Chicago to teach the brothers and sisters there. This coming Saturday I will be speaking at one church that has a congregation of 3000 congregation. Over 5000 members attend their Sunday service. The minister of this church is a woman and she wants to meet me. Since attending the Divine Principle and Family Values lecture she is so inspired. This minister is very spiritual. She heard my name and requested to see me.

Everyone bring your Divine Principle book with you. Amen. (Amen) We are so very fortunate to have this new Divine Principle book. It is such a guidance to our eternal lives. Therefore we have to teach to others. This is the last important commission True Father gave to us from this stage last Sunday. Amen. Both first and second generation need to become Divine Principle lecturers. God bless you!
